Flat black on Silver?
Heads: hope you're well..............
trying to figure out what kind of grill to get for 63 when it gets here....
I'm kind of liking the flat black.......
http://www.123mercedes.com/W212/w212ALLPARTS.html
wonder how that would look with flat black stock rims that I get painted
from my 550........
anyone have any experience with these cats? also, any input or thoughts
on a grill would be taken under advisement.....
also going for some clear side markers of course..flat badge.....
thanx drivers

I would plead with you to not ruin the look of that nice new whip with a fugly and ill proportioned aftermarket Star grill, but it's your baby so it's your choice.
I'd say, if you are going with flat black wheels, I'd do a flat black grill over a gloss black grill. And I'd paint the stock grill. My only beef with a flat black grill however, is that you're taking a shiny and classy looking chrome face, and making it look like a cheap unfinished plastic face (matte). However, that is at the same time part of the allure of matte.

Check out the Lorinser grill, I have it on my car painted gloss black. It's a little different from stock but looks and fits great and no star in the middle, or paint the stock grill gloss black with satin black wheels

I also agree with all of the above in regards to the star grill and color.
No star.
Color either gloss black or cf wrap it if you need to change it.
The Lorinser grill that Park is talking about is nice too.

Saw a E350 at the dealer today that someone dropped off for service. It had a a star grill with gold trim. Golden back emblem and gold inserts on the hubcaps. I thought it was a Lexus!
Stay stock and put the mods under the hood and under the chassis where they do the most good!

I think stock would look the best. If you are feeling the itch to make it flat black, get some plasti-dip and try it out on the grille. If you don't like it, just peel it off and you'll have your original grille back unharmed.
And my god, I just clicked on one of your links in your sig.
