Tire and wheel insurance....

What should be a reasonable price to pay for the tire and wheel insurance?
My dealer quoted me $1500.00 for 4 years, around $860 for 1 year.
Claimed that was their cost.
Which might be true but i would rather not believe the first price they tell me. I have 30 days to decide.

I have the 18" AMG wheels so I would like to get it but of course do not want to overpay.
This is the "First Class" insurance represented as MB's own.

What have others paid? and i assume i can buy from any dealer so recommendations are appreciated as well.

Thanks Guys !

So new aftermarket wheels void the warranty? They wouldn't cover the aftermarket stuff, but why not the stock wheels?

My policy only covers the wheels delivered with the car. If you put aftermarket wheels on and scuff of bend them, you're on your own.

Non Benz Wheels will void the wheel and tire insurance.

It should not void the entire bumper to bumper warranty..

Maybe I'm reading too hard into this, but say I have a stock set and an aftermarket set. I run the aftermarket set spring to summer, stock fall to winter. Fall or winter I hit a pothole, blow the tire. How would they know I ran a different set other times??

I would expect that both the tire and wheel would be covered in that scenario.

The warranty covers the wheels and tires originally delivered with the car as well as any subsequent tires as long as they are the same type (performance category, size etc) as the ones delivered with the car.
