I was shocked at the lease price and jumped at it. However, with 25 cents/mile over the limit of only 7500 (So low!), I will probably pay approx 2,250 dollars at the end of the lease because I will most likely drive 9000 miles over the limit for both years.

That sucks, but if it's a sport get used to scratches running up under the front bumper. I like the looks of the sport over my luxury, but lower = better chance of catching underside of front on ramps and parking stops.

Yeah, it made me crazy too after I bought the car and it ALREADY was scraped under there. Then I ended up scraping it myself.

Once you digest it, you'll realize that you can't see it, and it really doesn't matter how it looks under there. HOWEVER, invest in touch up paint, and touch it up yourself whenever you scrape it yourself.

Since the DEALER did it, at the very least, they need to touch it up for you, at the very least.

I'm not sure if I want to bring it up with the dealer since they may charge me at the end of the lease. If I touch it up, they might not notice it. As you can probably tell, I've calmed down.

Scratches aside, I also noticed that I can use the navigation system while driving. I didn't think about it when I entered a destination on the freeway, but now that I reflect on it, I thought the E class didn't allow destinations to be input while driving unless it was through voice control? Also, do you guys have consumption maps in the COMAND display? My COMAND manual says I should have it, but the only consumption graph is in the IC.

Also, when I drove my car home from work today, I noticed the car started in S mode, which is where I left it...

WTF, they allow entry while driving now?!

Can you do us a favor and check to see what version your Command is (would probably answer all these questions)? It should be in the Settings Menu somewhere.

I have the 3d maps option, also topographic and if I change the temp it pops up on the lower portion of the nav screen. I think I have weather also - I see the option but haven bothered looking at it. Pretty sure I can enter destinations while driving. I didn't get the color display though and my car defaults back to "E" ...which is ....irritating. I'll check for consumption maps.

So.....I couldn't find the consumption chart either - should be on the system menu but I don't appear to have that sub-menu. My manual says I do, but it covers COMAND for all the models and so I'm thinking its for a hybrid, or something - Not sure how much use the consumption charts would be over the MPG readout we already get except if it were a hybrid and you wanted to compare consumption values (gas versus electric).

As to weather - Seems like I don't have the same thing as the OP - The menu I saw was Weather Band Radio - not something provided by Sirrius.

I have three options: Normal, Bird's Eye View, 3-D. The problem is that not many areas in the US maps included with the 2011 Es have much 3-D data.

My E also has the 3-D map option (w/ non-color display). And as K-A said, when you select it, nothing happens.

The reason being, i think, is because of the lack of buildings/skyscrapers in my area.

I might be going downtown (Detroit) for my buddy's birthday next weekend and i'm guessing that maybe the 3D nav option will be operational there?

Thats probably my problem too. I really do think Mercedes should have been at least nice enough to include a notice of some sort...i.e..

"Attention Driver: your 3D map is working perfectly, you just live in an area deemed unimportant and thus not worth depicting in 3D"

Mercedes e350 BlueTec
I just leased a 2011 e350 Bluetec....MSPR $59250 (Premium 2 plus some other stuff). 24 month lease (first payment plus registration fee and nuisance fees like tire disposition fee paid up front...but no other money down)....I was eligible for the conquest $4K and although this was the only diesel at my dealer, they gave me the same discount they would give me on a gas 350. 12K per year....my monthly Payment is $495 plus tax. I took the maximum 10 multiple security deposits to reduce the money factor by 0007....if you lease and you don't understand multiple security deposits, you are missing a great deal...this is not putting money down...you get it back at the end of the lease...note: sadly dealers do not understand this mercedes lease option. It was an irresistable deal....and by the way, I love the car.

Now part 2...it is a 2011 according to the VIN, but it is physically a 2012....2012 Front LED's, Comand 4.5....(not sure about the transmission). You can tell if a car has Comand 4.5 easily....instead of a long computer adapter slot with some chrome under the volume knob, there is a much smaller SDCard slot with no chrome below but slightly to the left of that knob. Additionally, the ipod cable is in the center console, not the glove box. Yes, I have 3d view, color dashboard and all that other stuff that folks have described in Comand 4.5 and on the 2012's.

I stopped by my dealer today and their service manager was pretty surprised that this car was a 2011....and understood my concern was that if there is an update to 4.5, I want to make sure I am notified and get the update. The Mbrace folks looked up my car and insisted I had Comand 4.0, so I think the build records may be fouled up.

My car was built in July 2011 so apparently the build plant has already changed over to 2012 parts but the folks putting VIN numbers on cars are just continuing to put 2011 VIN's on the cars, no matter what they build. However, I doubt that they are putting the new 6 cyl gas engines in the 2011's. The diesel isn't changing engines.

Congrats on the new car...
Interesting about the multiple sec. deposits, so how much is an ind. sec. deposit? $500, $600?, so 10X is putting $5-$6K down? What happens if the car gets totaled or stolen, do you get the sec. deposits back right away?

One of the important things to understand is that the money is a security deposit, it is NOT a down payment....so if your car is stolen, it does not count towards money you've paid on your lease and gap insurance picks up the difference. Each car finance arm does multiple security deposits differently. Mercedes charges you your monthly payment as each monthly security deposit. You tell the dealer how many security deposits you want to "loan mercedes" and that modifies the money factor down....they calculate the monthly payments and then you pay that monthly payment x the number of security deposits they figured the lease on.

Sadly, very few dealers understand this option and of course since they don't understand it, they say it's a bad idea or claim that Mercedes doesn't offer that option. (it is not available in all states). It actually is a wonderful option for you. Anyone who makes a capital contribution to a lease up front should take that same money and apply it to multiple security deposits instead...it is a much better financial deal.

Good info, thanks. Is your car a Luxury or Sport? I haven't seen the straight LED's yet on an E Sport. Can you post pics of your front end please?! Also, if you can post pics of your Command unit I'm sure that would be appreciated by all!

I got a really good deal on my new E also (my 2010 I got the "first year premium, so I can't say the same about that), but man, with all these deals it's pretty crazy how cheap the E's are. Kind of devalues the car, as it's nearing on loaded Honda territory, but hey, the consumers win out on getting a more supposed-to-be expensive car for great rates.

Some pictures of my comand 4.5 dash (the 2012 dashboard)....and the front LED's that will be standard on all 2012's. Note in the picture of the volume knob that there is a small slot (a bit hard to see) below and slightly to the left of the knob for an SD card. The 2011 Comand 4.0 system had a longer slot and small button directly below the knob.

I have Luxury with Premium 2 which includes LED parking lights....however I am told that these are the 2012 style lights which will be standard on the e's, not the ones that were part of the P2 package on the 2011's. They are, in my opinion, much cleaner looking than the current lights on the sports.

Holy crap! You were correct. When I read your first post, I though "Bs, this guy has no idea what a 2012 car looks like because none have been released yet"

But your DRL's and SD slot tell the tale. Congrats!
Do you know if you got the bigger engine as well? or just the other bits from teh 2012?

I have the diesel...so I guess it is a 2012 engine since it isn't going to change....no way to be sure about the transmission, but as far as I have read the transmission change is not perceptible to the driver, it's just has less internal friction.

I've also read about a change to LED lighting of the license plate and some new steering wheel....so I'm not sure about those bits.

FYI those LED's have been on the E's since 2011 MY's. The car in question is a Luxury model, which has had the straight LED's. However, the 2012 Sports also are getting the straight LED's, which I don't believe we will see until the 2012's roll out.

Thanks for the pics O/P. Much appreciated. Interesting about the Command! You definitely have a newer version. What's unfortunate is how they made that little area a little less attractive than the old command, with the centered slot and the little chrome accent to make a look a bit more refined. But the new tech sure makes it worth it I'll bet.

No complaints about the technology...It loaded my Verison iphone 4 address book with no problems at all. The new smaller slot is almost unnoticeable...and I think it's a lot cleaner looking than the previous wider slot...less chrome is goodness to me. Yesterday, out of curiousity, my salesman and I checked every e350 on their lot and mine was the only one with Comand 4.5....again mine was a july build.

I don't know if the new technology brought me any new features (other than color and maybe 3d if I drive in a big city), but I have to say the street names are really small on the display...and in satellite view (I think that's what it's called, I can't read the street names at all....I guess I will use the navigation steps in the display in front of me when I drive....where I can read the names. No idea what topography does...but where I live it's flat.

The straight LED's were part of the Luxury Premium 2 package in 2011....although I thought they were different...but perhaps I just have 2011 Premium 2 LED's.

But the new tech sure makes it worth it I'll bet.
Really? then I'm confused....I thought the 2011 Luxury looked like this

Did they also have the straight ones as an option or something?
