Just Bought a New E Class! (w/ Color Display and Sirius Weather)
I just purchased a 2011 E350 Black Premium 1 with Beige/Black Sport Interior w/Burl Walnut Wood Trim, and Pano Roof. To my surprise, the car was built last month, so it has the new color instrument cluster and the new navigation system with 3D maps, dynamic route guidance, and Sirius Weather (although I can't activate it for some reason...Sirius said that the dealer could only activate traffic and radio...). The iPod interface is now in the center console and there is BT audio streaming and album artwork for the interface in the COMAND center. I'll post pics ASAP:
I got the car with 8 miles and a MSRP of $55,350 or something like that for $47,000 out the door and $399+ $35 taxes/month for a 24 month lease w/7500 miles/year. I'll probably drive around 12,000 miles, but I'll just pay for the additional miles at the end of the lease.
I was going to get a 2012 C250, but got a great deal on the E350, so when my ordered car comes in, I won't buy it. In my eyes, the only things I lost were the new steering wheel, Blind Spot Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, and Bixenons. Hey, I still got an E class, which is WAYYY NICER!

K-A, I put $4000 down including registration, taxes, first month's payment, DMV fees, etc... It included everything needed. The same dealer offered $249/month leases on 2011 C300s and discounted every one of their E classes by 8 grand (They called it upfront pricing), which is surprising since that dealer is known for bad customer service.
I saw the ad in the morning online, called, sales guy said he would give me the deal on any sport or luxury model with a certain MSRP, and I walked out with a new E class just a few hours later!
Screw my ordered C Class. The dealer I ordered my C250 from wasn't helpful at all.
hyperion, can I mod leased cars? I never have leased a car before so I don't know if I can or not? Let me just say one thing, you guys are WAYYY more helpful than the guys over in the C and GL forums

My Nav also says "3D Maps" in the Settings page, as if it obviously has the option, but when I "check" the "3D" box, nothing happens.... What am I doing wrong???? I want that!!

3-d looks cool, but i might get easily distracted by it while driving, comparing the 3-d model vs real life.. enjoy the new car, good choice over a C250

What I want to know is when is Daimler going to dump that humongous and useless analog clock (which only the driver can see anyway) and put in a real tachometer that's closer to the size of the speedo. The tach is so tiny it becomes as useless as that oversized clock.

The AMGs have a full manual transmission mode. You can even bounce off the rev limiter if you don't shift. You need a big visible tach to watch the revs and keep the car in the appropriate power band when driving hard. Yet you still get this tiny tach and a big clock........

I have a 2011 and I just went down and checked and I don't even have '3D Maps' option anywhere in the settings page. Checked every menu and sub-menu under 'Nav' and no luck. Am I missing something?

The later months got a new Command software (very subtle differences). The best way to know if you have it, is if you change the temperature on the A/C unit, it should show up on the Command Screen at the very bottom (telling you what the temperature is).
From what I understand, it's also got Bluetooth Audio streaming, and stuff like that, and it's a "later version" of the Command.
My 2010 didn't have it, and I tried to get it upgraded at the Dealer, but it was really difficult to convince them. My 2011 (3/11 Build Date) has it. I see the "3D Maps" Option, and I check it, but no dice.
As far as I know, 2012 models aren't supposed to get another update to the Command, so I should have the same version as O/P in this Thread? I have no idea anymore.
