My 2012 Wagon
I love it. It is very comfortable, floaty and the steering is very light. It drives nothing like my E cabrio. You can tell this is what an E class should feel like. The car came pretty loaded but no parking sensors..

Why? I've never heard a reviewer do anything but rag on the feel compared to hydraulic/natural steering. The only reason manufacturers are moving to electro steering is due to MPG requirements (obviously that is a valid reason to prefer it on its own, if one values such over steering natural-ness).

In my opinion the car makers go with electronic power steering because it is lower cost to build one, period. They may claim that it is also easier to control for variable steering power, which probably is true, but the main reason is to save money when they build the car.

Nice wagon. But the reason the manufacturers are all going electric is for fuel savings. When they make engine stop at idle standard, they don't want you to have heavy steering while the engine is off!
