Audible signals/warnings
My 2010 E350 does not give an audible signal when locking/unlocking the car. Is it supposed to? If so, how do you set it?
Also, I have noticed that the "chimes" signal for TPMS, Brake On, Attention Assist, etc. are very soft. Anyway to increase the volume of these? The red warning in the instrument cluster is a help, but it is not very bright during the daytime, so if not looking at speedometer may not even notice it for a while.

El Cid,
I'm not 100% on the 2010's, but think they are the same as the '11's. You can turn on the audible in your I/C settings. I can't remember the exact location, but use your left steering wheel control (left/right) to scroll the categories. One of them will have settings that cover the alerts.

You can make the horn sound under settings in the instrument cluster. Search through them it will come up. MB put it under audible lock/unlock. It took me time to find it.

The setting says something like 'Acoustic Lock' if i remember correctly.
Just an FYI its not a nice tone or beep though. its the horn tooting.
after i had this on for a week or so i shut it off. too obnoxious.

You know, I'd bet you can probably find that info in the owner's manual. If your car didn't come with one then you can download a PDF version from the MBUSA site.

Thanks for input. I had checked Operator's Manual and it just said how to enable/disable or change from factory settings. No mention of audible settings at all that I can find.
Did try it and if standing next to door, can hear a faint (very faint) beep when prssing buttons on Smart Key. Locks engaging/disengaging are much louder in fact.
Under Settings for Instrument Cluster, Vehicle and Convenience; zip about audible. Just enable or disable.
Guess the beep is there, but just not very loud.
Aha! Just found a note in Manual. If wish to adjust sound volume, see authorized Mercedes-Benz Center.

I turned my honk off the second I sat in my car, so I guess it's not really an issue to me anymore, but would have preferred the beeps/chirp.

I prefer silence.I always confirm that the lights have flashed when I hit "lock" and that's more than good enough for me.
