Opinion on these wheels
I just wanted to get some opinions on these
http://www.ebay.com/itm/20-SILVER-WH...b333#vi-ilComp
Since the E class is a fairly long car, I feel these "chunky" wheels will go well. I'm not sure what era these are from though.

I'm thinking along your lines too. I have the multi spoke amg 18" wheels right now and they just look small compared to the car. I'm set on 20" wheels feel these will overall look good with the bigger size of the car. I'm new to MB so I'm not sure what car (if any ) these came from or from what era.

Those are brand new close "replicas" of one of the factory optional wheels for S/CL classes. Due to offsets they will perfectly fit W212. However, do search and your own DD for proper tire to fit. There are a lot of threads with very detailed information (some are actually very good) specifically on for/against of 20" tires and which sizes are the best. Allocate enough time to go through all of them. Good luck.

I understand a 20" wheel is more for looks and you don't gain much else but lose ride quality, etc. I have 20's on our q5 (obviously they have bigger tires as well) and i love the way they look. The biggest thing that i don't like about the e350 is how tiny the stock wheels look.

Agree, stock wheels do look small. What some people have done to make them look "bigger" is to add 20mm rear and 15mm front spacers.
While 20s will always look better, due to fitting issues on front of W212 of tires with high enough (safe) sidewall, IMO 19" wheels are the most appropriate (or max) for W212 used as a daily driver. Having said that, while 19" wheels cost about the same as 20"; 20" tires are actually quite a bit less expensive than 19" (go figure).

Hideous for the W212, IMO. Full face wheels looked great on 90's body Benzes, with their angular shapes yet smooth, "open canvas" unobstructed by lines surfaces. The W212 has a lot of lines that can make it look "stubby", and not as long as it really is, as it already is, IMO wheels like that might give it too stubby a look.

What other suggestions do you guys have? I like the 5 spoke look or something like the vossen cv1. The thing with 19's is that most wheels I like have a lip and that deep dish look. I feel the 19 with a lip looks small like the 18s.

they're not that bad, a different look you know?
seems like EVERYONE has the five spokers, myslef included, but I have some
10 spokers on my amg that look brillant! and 2012's are coming with 10 spokers
too...(amg's)....it would look good and different from the rest of us if you got the 'full face'
wheels.........
the Vossens you mentioned() are a very good choice too........have some of those and love them....
I really like this concave business
those cv1's look so good on my car!
make sure to post up when you're done!

CV3's are the 5 spokers. I'd go with either some good rep's of 19's or either Vossen's.
I'm hoping once the winter months are over, I'll be copping some Vossen's.
They should have some new design's sooner or later.

Those that run 20's, do you recommend a drop? I have a sport and have some h&r's on order

I think the 350's could use a tad drop as the 550's just sit lower when in sport mode than do the 350's naturally. So yes I would lower the 350 if you go the 20" route. To me it looks like the flat face rims of the 80's and not much of a sport appearance like the 5 and 10 spoke rims of today, just my opinion though.

I like these as well. The problem is the offset. Many here say they won't work but the sit says they will fit flush. Anywhere else to get these with a higher offset or will these work fine?

An example of what kind of Benz that wheel theme (full face) does look great on:
Angular, yet smooth, no obstructed surfaces. Too many lines and heavy handed design elements on the W212 would look too cluttered/messy with full face wheels I'd think.

I'm not a fan of those wheels even on that car. The face is too big and it has no other design to it. The ones i like, imo are just fatter 5 spokes and they aren't flat. If i did get them, I think i would powder coat the barrel part black. Still not sure though. I don't really know what kind of wheels will look good on this car. Based on what others have here, I think most tiny. the problem for me is that i don't really see this car as sporty but more classy. I think the a5 and the 5 series have a much more sporty look and sportier wheels will work well with those cars.

I agree that the car is more luxury/classy overall but with "sporty" elements to lend a dynamic overall design.
I get what you're going for with the classy wheel setup, and think it's necessary as people try and dress their classy luxury Sedans up as wannabe "race cars" too much IMO (not saying I'm totally innocent of this myself to any degree, I guess the contrast of themes is of certain allure). Personally, I think the standard Sport wheels (the 5-spokes that are relatively thin, but kind of "blade" up) are a good example of a classy wheel for the car, even though they still lean a bit more sporty. Maybe use them as a guide, and find some wheels that fatten up a similar spoke theme. I always loved that style of wheel. My friend had some Lorinsers that looked similar (thin-yet not too thin "blade" style wheels) back in '02 on his S500, looked very classy and still "sporty" yet not in that gimmicky wannabe way.
