mBrace mobile app for android
Just got an email that the M-B mBrace app for android is available...loaded it up last night - pretty cool. Remote lock and unlock as well as send2benz feature for navigation.

Its been out for a while now and it's really not that great. It took forever for it to lock/unlock my car and it didn't even work 100% of the time. I think it was like 60 seconds to unlock the car...

They stole the app. from our Blackberrys. Apparently we don't miss it. My GLK unlocks & locks everytime I touch it. It also unlocks & turns the lights on from 10-12 cars away in a parking lot. Who needs mbrace & a phone? Seriously. My spouse unit wanted mbrace. I have yet to see the point. Except for an accident.

Apparently is doesnt work on 2012 cars yet! Mine doesnt work, so I called MB and talked to one fo the mbrace App specialist. Said it will not be compatible with 2012 cars until sometime next year. I asked him to repeat himself I said "Because it sounds like you said sometime NEXT YEAR". He assured me that was correct. I still dont believe it.

Having worked for many years in an ER and having seen *many* who've perished in car accidents the automatic accident notification feature,*alone*,is worth the price of admission.Other features are cool...destination downloading,remote lock/unlock/tracking,etc...but notification could very possibly save lives.

Its pretty neat, I just wish the app was more stable. I have a Moto Atrix and it crashes about every other time I use it, but with a simple stop of the program and a re-launch it works just fine.

I have Android phone too, very cool phone, just used Google Voice to call friends from Mumbai for free. And sure it is hard to find W212 at mumbai, but I could spot one at my hotel, I bet driver was carrying Android phone too.

Mine isnt activated yet but will be on Thurs.The app looked interesting and loaded up quickly,,Ill have to see how it works.
