Attention ***!!!! Wake up!

Hello gents:

Was on a short roadtrip down to Wilmington this weekend, and on my way home, FOR THE FIRST TIME,
I was made aware of my drowsiness by my car.....The radio volume dipped, and it basically told me to buck up and start paying attention!
LOL, it was a windy day and I was going pretty fast, (new V1), but I've never had it engage itself before...
Anyone get that 'wake your *** up' message yet?
I did find myself trying to drive better,
as if my car was watching, lol....
Keep well,

Well...the great thing is that you know the system works as it should. Drive safe bro.

I think the system is only active at certain highway speeds, and after driving for approximately 30 minutes.

That's awesome. I made sure that my mothers new E had this feature for that reason alone. Thanks for sharing. Drive safely.

I think its a totally useless feature. Goes off constantly and I'm never sleepy. The few time I am exhausted and I know I should not be driving it never goes off.

Just my take.... i feel its a way for mb to attract people to buy their cars. When the system reads your eyes and monitors if you are actually falling asleep I will say its worth having. But right now this monitoring your inputs bs seems to be useless imho... Volvo is working on a system that reads your eyes and so is Lexus. I bet MB has the system in the works as well.

Still the safest cars around however.

Heck, I've had that for 25 years now. It started right after I said "I do".

Seriously, that is pretty cool. What else does it do besides dropping the radio volume? Anything in the display?

Same thing happened to me when I took a short trip up to Massachusetts. I didn't believe this system worked until it told me to take a break from driving

yes, if I recall the display turns red because you've been bad, haha
but I didn't notice anything else, the cruise control may have been disabled, but I might be making that up
I'm glad to know it works too

I have had mine alert me once, and, it was correct. I have never been able to "trick" it into working. It monitors over 70 inputs to make its determination. Nice feature, and, it seems to work just fine on my vehicle.

I've never gotten it, but I'm dying to see the warning since none of my other cars have it.

I mostly agree with this, though I still very much love and APPRECIATE having the feature.

I've driven my car long distance a lot, and it's never gone off when I was actually dozing off either, however it has gone off a lot when I accidentally swerve a bit or especially when the wind is tossing my car around.

However, that doesn't mean that it's inaccurate. The way I see it, if I'm actually super tired, then even if I'm getting sleepy, I'm concentrating heavily on keeping the car straight. It's the times that I'm not concentrating enough on the road where the thing tells me that I'm tired.

I have had the system give me a warning during a long day of driving. I was tired but did not realize it was affecting my driving. I think it's a valuable feature.

I've only had this ring on my drives back to Houston from Dallas. Give it about 2 hrs and it starts to go off every 45min-ish. Personally, out of the 20+ times it's done this to me it's been incorrect every single time. Maybe my face is hard to read...but I do like the popup stating "GO TAKE A BREAK"

Driving to Houston or Austin, this thing has alarmed on me and my wife... especially interesting when I switch out driving with my wife and it starts to beep. Makes me wonder if the system learned the way I drive and then beeps when the driving rhythm changes when my wife takes over. LOL!

I had this go off once on a 2 hr drive from SF to Monterey. We were stuck in some bad traffic so the actual drive was more like 4 hours long. about 30 miles away from home it went off alerting me to take a break.

I was really starting to get tired/sleepy at the time it went off. It was late at night and been a exhausting weekend of activities with family.

So at least in my situation it was spot on, and really did give me a good wake up call.

I've had it go off only once and I didn't think I was getting drowsy or driving erratically for what it is worth!
