Attention Ass!!!! Wake up!
Was on a short roadtrip down to Wilmington this weekend, and on my way home, FOR THE FIRST TIME,
I was made aware of my drowsiness by my car.....The radio volume dipped, and it basically told me to buck up and start paying attention!
LOL, it was a windy day and I was going pretty fast, (new V1
), but I've never had it engage itself before... Anyone get that 'wake your *** up' message yet?
I did find myself trying to drive better,
as if my car was watching, lol....
Keep well,

Just my take.... i feel its a way for mb to attract people to buy their cars. When the system reads your eyes and monitors if you are actually falling asleep I will say its worth having. But right now this monitoring your inputs bs seems to be useless imho... Volvo is working on a system that reads your eyes and so is Lexus. I bet MB has the system in the works as well.
Still the safest cars around however.

Seriously, that is pretty cool. What else does it do besides dropping the radio volume? Anything in the display?

but I didn't notice anything else, the cruise control may have been disabled, but I might be making that up

I'm glad to know it works too

I've driven my car long distance a lot, and it's never gone off when I was actually dozing off either, however it has gone off a lot when I accidentally swerve a bit or especially when the wind is tossing my car around.
However, that doesn't mean that it's inaccurate. The way I see it, if I'm actually super tired, then even if I'm getting sleepy, I'm concentrating heavily on keeping the car straight. It's the times that I'm not concentrating enough on the road where the thing tells me that I'm tired.
First ever time I saw coffee logo during driving
I have seen it a few times on the freeway.. during late night/early drives..
It have been spot on !!.. once the alarm went on 4 times during a 2hr drive... and i WAS kinda tired...
I was really starting to get tired/sleepy at the time it went off. It was late at night and been a exhausting weekend of activities with family.
So at least in my situation it was spot on, and really did give me a good wake up call.
