The most your significant other "allows" on mods...
i was "inspired" by the following thread and just wondering how many of your significant others are totally ok w/any mods you can possibly think of on your rides and how many just let you to fill up the tanks ?
https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-w...snext-com.html
here is my list:
trunk spoiler: ok and installed
roof spoiler: neutral
wheels: ok unless i could find space to store the current set
tint: neutral
lighting: ok and will install hid and led very soon
accessories: ok if needed. all season rubber mats and trunk lid handle (no p2, no trunk closer) added.
everything else: don't even think about it

My "significant other" (not Married) has no say in my car life. She hates my car enthusiasm period, but knows that it's just the way it is.
I guess if she's making all the money and funding it, it'd be a different story.

My wife is generally tolerant of auto expenses, especially if it's for her car . If she questions anything, I just tell her it's necessary and that usually is the end of it.

i once told my wife i can't get extended warranty after the car is off the lot just an excuse for me to change car sooner but she found out from her friends later and guess i don't have to tell the story after .

I think I've probably burned my wife out over the years. I have heavily modded my truck which is now a show truck. I bought my quad then replaced every part with aftermarket equipment. My motorcycle is completely polished with many mods. So considering my history, she has been very supportive of all my hobbies and she's put up with it for over 22yrs. I do all the wrenching myself though as well as polishing and any minor fabrication and engine assembly. Here's some of my work.

My wife doesn't care what I do to my rides...she knows I love to do mods and maintenance stuff myself....I buy whatever I part I want, and she has never questioned me about it. The only thing she hates is the time it takes to do the mods is time away from her and our daughter.

My wife finds out about some of my mods when the mail man comes, or i get a parcel notice. I usually just don't tell her about mods...she'll notice something and ask about it...by then it's:
"Oh, honey! I got that _____ _____done a while ago. You're so silly & forgetful. Haha. What's for supper?"

These threads...and even real-life conversations always amazes me.
It's one thing to be respectful and ask your spouse's opinion, but permission?
....these are probably the same bone-heads who have to ask their wives for permission to play golf or go to Vegas with a buddy.
