Mercedes has introduced internet connectivity in their 2012 cars with Comand 4.5 everywhere but in the US. (note below). You can only make entries when the car is stopped, so browsing while moving is not possible.

I am somewhat stymied in coming up with things I would do with that capability, if it were active in my car.

What would you do with the capability?

(note) it is possible to activate internet in the US...all the software is built in to comand 4.5....Mercedes has just made a marketing decision to delay it in the US)

I would use google to find places and transfer addresses to gps system. This is what I usually do now with my phone.

In addition to what was mentioned above, I'd also use it for internet radio since there is no satellite radio over here.

In the four days I spent there about the only things they seemed to have in abundance were heat, sand and veiled women (it's the only time I've been to the Middle East).

Larger screen for E-mail, checking flight status/gate info when arriving at airport, Mbworld and Flyertalk when waiting for my wife/kid outside places... that being said I wouldn't pay for the service for such minimal actual use. Overseas does it just work of your phone's mobile hotspot etc or is it a modem in the car? I know MB has the mobile hotspot option but I doubt very popular with all the smart phones and MiFys which do the same thing?

would be a cool feature if it transmit with bluetooth and uses my iphone 3G/4G to connection to the internet....and maybe even use the voice command to search for you while driving....lol.
