Back up cam slooow.
1. For starters, it takes far too long for the COMAND system to boot up. I suppose that's an "operating system" issue.
2. In any case, after the car is put in reverse, there is an unacceptable delay in getting a backup cam image. And my car has never had a quick enough image.

But earlier this year I got a software update for unrelated reasons. Now, I start the car, put my seatbelt on (backwards, I know), put the car in reverse, and the camera is ready. Now I can't even get out of my garage before it comes on. That's perfect.
The tradeoff is now my phone takes longer to get ready, maybe 30 seconds or so? I can live with it.
As for the phone's bluetooth audio connection , yup it takes a while unlike reverse cam it's verily slow to get it connected .

For instance, the CD player looks up song tracks and album titles on Gracenotes, and does so at startup if you are currently listening to CDs. If you put in a new CD or just started listening to CDs, Gracenotes might be interfering with the bootup of the backup camera. Before my software upgrade, Gracenotes almost never found the tracks or album titles for my CDs, or would do so very randomly. Now that both Gracenotes and the camera are fixed...
