Right now, when the lock goes down I believe that even when you pull the lever twice on the rear doors it will not unlock. Is there anyway to do it so it is like the bmw doors where you pull once to unlock and twice to open?

I heard that the AMG door pins sit flush with the door, if that is the case then I am thinking maybe we can change the settings? So that people sitting in the back can still unlock the door and leave the car themselves.

I have a 2012 e350 and my rear doors open in the manner you describe. once to unlock and twice to open.

Perhaps you have the fob set to unlock the driver door only?

Maybe I am tripping out or I'm missing something here.. To my knowledge, only the front doors open when I pull on the lever. The back doors I have to actually pull the pin up and open. I can actually open the door by pulling it twice?

yup all 4 of my doors open with two pulls of the handle.

Most likely your key fob is set for front doors only. I believe to change just hold down both the lock and unlock for like 10 secs the light on the key will blink a few times to save the change.

Question: when you press the unlock button do all 4 doors unlock or only the driver doors?

Only the driver's doors. Is that the problem? I set it to driver's door for security purposes. I have to press twice to unlock all 4 doors. This affects what happens when you pull the door handles from the inside?

Yup that is why it won't work for rear doors.

There's some confusion here.

There is no way to enable the "double pull" feature as found on BMWs. You have to hit unlock or have the rear-seat passenger pull the door pin up in order to open the door from the inside.

Oh.. maybe icanectc was referring to the exterior door handles.

I thought the AMG pins sit flush with the door panel. So in this case the passenger will not be able to exit the car unless the driver or passenger presses the unlock button then?
