Dude are you serious? And you're in Centerville so did you get this done at Bob Ross? I had the hardest time with them and they still didn't give me the latest version with HVAC display. If you went elsewhere please let me know.

 

I am taking my car in on Sunday and I am waiting. I will report how long the service takes.

Getting up to date firmware, nothing else, so I will report on time taken.

 

Arrived at MB of Pompano at 8:48, service opened at 8:59. Sat down, did paperwork until 9:13. Getting software update, car wash, and a new valve stem cover. I will update on time taken at dealer.

 

Just about to leave. No team leader to do update, so I come back tomorrow.

 

I have a 2010, and I don't think they worked out the kinks in BT audio so they didn't enable it on the car at release. I, of course, unlocked it with the help of this board, and took it to the dealership just recently complaining that it wasn't working properly. They updated it, and it works fine now.

 

Did you ask for a specific version like this thread says or did you just have them update to the latest version. I'm still trying to convince my dealer to do it.

 

They pretend there is no such thing.. My service manger said such a thing , and I proved him wrong..

 

I asked for the specific version from this thread and even told them the specific DVD that they needed to have.

Of course, it was like talking in a different language to them, like I would say things and they would just return a blank stare like they had no idea what I was talking about.

I told them that the Bluetooth performance was poor and they tried to blame it on my phone or the fact that Verizon was my provider. There wasn't a lot of good faith or benefit of the doubt. It was like "oh there couldn't possibly be anything wrong with this, it's a Mercedes. If there actually is something wrong, it must be your fault."

Didn't leave me with a good feeling about the service center or the dealership in general.

 

Are the streaming Bluetooth features up to date on my 2012? Any updates required. Pls let me know.

 

You should be fine. You should have Bluetooth as an option for music. If not then you need the update but 2012 model is supposed to have this as standard.

 

Followed advice and got SW update today. BT Adio streaming works now on my 2011 E550.

How come your command looks to have a different colour to mine? Mine is a yellow gold yours looks green! Is there a place to change the look? #e550 '11

 

It might be because he was in night mode. There's a setting that makes it change to a darker black/gray when it gets dark outside. Maybe you have it as gold (day mode) always.

I don't really use the Bluetooth audio that much, but I like that the Nav map display looks better in birds eye view. There are more street names and they use the arrows to label them. My old maps had the names along the streets and so it couldn't show as many.

 

I had my comman updated and now it works great with BT audio. My trick was simple, if you can demonstrate the issue and explain its the same with your wife and colleagues with different phones then the tech knows the is a clear issue related to the hardware. The tech just needs to cover their **** when sending work back to the shop that it is a repeatable issue.

 

Check it at night and should look the same. Picture was taken around 9 pm...

 

My 2010 streams just fine... I went into my dealership ad told them to update my software because my phone was not connecting all the time.

 

my 2011 w212 was came out with the bt enabled. some of my friends' w212 s were not originally enabled but were able to turn it on in engineering menu.

I have W164 2011. I gave my dialer the above information and asked them to update the Command with the software with the above numbers. The dialer did not know about this particular update, but found it, and said, that the update was done with the provided information. After I got my car I did not find any BT streaming functions beside that I have (and always had before) for BT phone.
For anybody who knows about the subject and has an experience with it:
How can I check if the dialer made the required update with the above software numbers? Should I go to the Engineering mode to check it? Or might be that the update does not bring the BT streaming ability to W164?

how did you do it?

 

I just did this to my 10 e550 and it worked. Make sure you click reset system after you are finished enabling the option, or bt audio won't show up under audio until you do.

Also, gotta hold 'end call, 1 and #' for 7 sec to enter engineer menu
