As usual the newbies are full of questions.(that's why we enter these forums). Although I might not get any answer to this one. Is it a difficult job to change the starter on a 2012 e350 4matic bluetek engine? Got a lemon on mine and as I'm mechanically inclined I thought I'd do it myself, but I thought I'd try to get a heads up first. I know it might just be too soon for anyone(other than me of course) to have this happen. I read some of the other threads about replacing the starter on other models and I'm wondering if the procedure is the same for my benz? Thanks to anyone who helps and when I can reciprocate with helpful knowledge I sure will! Bud

Where are you located? We do not get the E350 Bluetec with 4Matic in the US. We only get RWD. Do you mean Blue efficiency? If you can't tell the difference between a gas engine and a diesel engine, you probably should not do this yourself. lol

Regardless of what engine OP's got, the car is under warranty. That question smells to me to begin with.

As already noted 4matic Bluetecs aren't sold in North America so that fact suggests that you're elsewhere (Europe, perhaps). But regardless of where in the world you're located it's hard to imagine that your 2012 isn't under warranty...assuming you haven't already put 100,000 kms on it.So why not contact a local dealer?Originally Posted by buddyluv1

I am not aware of an E350 BTC 4 matic being sold anywhere? I think in europe there was E350 CDI 4 matic now or at some point? Perhaps its a custom build, explaining no warranty?
I guess nobody knows the answer to my question. Only that I made a mistake and wrote tek. Obviously if I wanted to go to the dealer I wouldn't have inquired here.

Are you seriously out of warranty on a 2012 car? It well could be as the car could have been on the road for about 17 months by now. I myself come close to that kind of mileage.Originally Posted by buddyluv1
