I had this last week

and went (in New Jersey) to a regular tire place, ETD

$29 and one hour, they plugged the leak, and I was on my way.

+1 Of course, when I had the run-flat tires on my Bluetec, I discovered that many shops will not plug a run-flat tire. Go figure.

Any reputable shop can fix this (at least on a non-run flat tire). These are simple repairs.

Any gas station should be able to fix it. Should cost no more than $20.00.

Just remember to annoy them with comments that "don't break the tire pressure sensor" and you will be fine. I had an indy garage break one in two different cars even after I told them to be careful. They replaced them for no cost but took extra day to wait for it. This was pain...

They must be better by now, I hope...

I plug my own on the spot. Lol. Its easier than putting on a spare. Just get yourself a nice tire patch kit.

Any of the goodyear stoes or ETD should work. When I lived in the city, I would just go to a local gas station. Back then they didn't have speed balancers just a bubble balancer.

Tires are not supposed to be plugged from the outside. It does not matter if they are Chevy tires or MB tires, Goodyears or Continentals. The plug forces the strands and or fabric of the belt apart. Tires are supposed to be dismounted and patched from the inside if the puncture is within the tread. Punctures in sidewalls and the corner of the tread where it meets the sidewall are never supposed to be repaired. A reputable tire dealer can repair your tire. If you let the under equipped or ill equipped work on your tire you can also wind up with a damaged alloy rim.

In days gone by I have had plug repairs in my tires also.

Research it with Tire Rack or any manufacturer or tire retailer.
