Exposed copper wire near/on calliper?

Hi,
New to the forum! Very informative and helpful.

I have a 2013 E350 cab. On my way back to the car this afternoon I noticed an exposed copper wire by the rear right calliper. Pic attached. The other 3 callipers don't have any exposed copper wiring. Anyone know what it is and whether it is supposed to be exposed?

Thanks for any input...

Thanks, but what it is it? Why is it only visible on 1 of the 4 callipers?

I believe it is the brake pad wear sensor wiring. You should have it also on front right. My car has it on right side of each axle. There is no sensors on left side and by the dealer service this is the way they build them.

I do have the wear sensor wiring on the car also on left side but there is no sensors used on left side brakes. I guess I could add them if I wanted to.

The brakes are build differently between the axles and this is probably why you don't see it in the right front but if after some effort of trying to see it you still can't locate have the wheel taken off and inspect that the sensor really is in place.
