Activating speed limit assist

I've got a W212 from September 2011. The car has NTG4 and a camera in the windshield for auto high beam control.
Can the same camera be used to read road signs? Does the speed limit assist need to be enabled via Star Diagnosis?

There is a setting in engineering mode about speed, I forgot what it called but that may be it?

I thought the sensor was in the front grille and the lane tracking assist camera was in the Window?

if case, that your car has code 608 but does not have code 513 - this is possible, but you have to use hardware Can-bus filter in order to do that

Am I understanding that my soon to be built E350 (USA model) will show me the current speed limit? What option is that part of? Does it do by actually reading street speed signs or by GPS (looking it up).

It will show speed limits by reading them with the camera in windshield.
Requires that you chose/have the option "Speed limit assist"

I checked some more. I think this is one of the options they don't make available in the US, like folding mirrors. Maybe because our speed signs are harder to read than in Europe. I know Cadillac has this feature and it works well.

I searched all around yesterday and couldn't find a way to enable it on my 2014 e350 in USA. If you ever find a way, please post

My 5 year old Garmin tells me the speed limit for the street I'm driving on. Seems like our internal navigation should be able to do the same.

Mine too, which is why I'm in the habit now of checking my GPS for speed limit, rather than looking for signs. For me at least, it's a pretty crucial feature to leave out of a nav.

After activation of SLA any EU speed limit signs is recognised with probability 99.9% even at nignt from 1st 2nd lane, 3rd lane is about 75% - this what I see on my car.

But the difference isn't actually that big if you take into account that one is mph and the other one km/h, 20 mph versus 25 mph. (I thought it was funny ).

Speed limit assist in the US is personally and individually delivered to drivers by our ever efficient state highway patrol officers.

Anybody know the part number for the camera in windscreen? There are a couple of different ones, made for different option codes.
I am looking for the one that supports Speed Limit Assisst and Auto High Beam.

if you talk about w212
MY09-10 = A0009051700
MY11+ = A0009050438
my guess, that 0438 gonna work with 09-10 as well

Hi vladimir

I am in Australia where speed limits change very often and it is too easy to get caught out.
I just purchased an S500 W221 2010 and it has code 608 but not 513.

Can you please tell me what hardware Can-bus Filter and STAR coding is needed to Activate Speed Limit Assist ?

Thanks for any help
