sbc or brake hold feature on w212

Hi, does anyone know if there is SBC or a brake hold function in e350? If yes, how do I activate it?

If I understand what you are asking, after you have come to a complete stop, do not release the brake, and then give it a sharp extra push.

Thanks. I'll try it tomorrow and will report if it works for me.

don't have to push it too hard. just an extra tab should be good and you'll see "hold" on the cluster.

Man, I've been driving the car for almost two years and didn't know about this very useful feature. I tried it and it works like a charm. Thanks, guys!

No SBC (and that's probably a good thing). There is a brake hold and the procedure is as described by Live Oak.

I have to tap on the brake for a second time little bit harder. Try it again, you should have it. Do not release the brake though. Just push it further once you are at a complete stop.

I might add, there is an additional fancy feature, Hill Start Assist:

If you are stopped on a grade (forward or back), when you take your foot off the brake, the brakes hold for about 1 second to give you time to get your foot on the gas. (One second is a LONG time, in that context.)

Assuming your car has that feature.

That's a useful feature as well. Thanks for sharing. I think I've experienced it several days ago when I was in a parking garage. I know for sure it's especially needed in SF

Very insteresting feature and useful when in a long stop waiting for signal to turn.
