Break-in Trip 2014 Luxury E350

Over the weekend we went 600 miles with 90% freeway at varying speeds, mainly 70-75, ending with about 850 miles on the car. Mileage was 28.3 on the highway, with 26.5 overall. Comfort was great, Distronic Plus makes driving much less tiring, although it has a bit of trouble understanding changing lanes on curves, by resisting turnng of the wheel a bit. On a straight, flat freeway stretch with steady steering input, suddenly a graphic came up on the center screen showing a steering wheel with 2 red, glowing hands depicted on it, apparently thinking I wasn't steering. All in all a very nice, comfortable car for travelling.

How good is the steering feel? is it knumb or overboosted?

Also, with the comfort suspension how does it handle around corners? is it wobbly ?

I found my Luxury E350 Bluetec to have a great ride. Digs in around corners, very little drama. I think the Luxury suspension is what most are expecting in the E class.

Steering feel is not like the mechanical/hydraulic system, but is not 'Ford like' either, so it's ok with me. Trip driving was on 'economy' mode since my wife does not like the swift response of Sport, and no curvy driving, so the suspension wasn't tested. I don't have an Android phone, but in Sport the car leaps out just fine. The steering wheel now has regular shift paddles & not buttons, so that's pretty nice. So far, the car is great.

Did you have start/stop on? Any personal comments on the impact of this function?

Start/Stop is fairly seamless, although in the hot weather it reduces the AC. I don't prefer to se it unless I'm in the area of intersections that I know have lengthy traffic signal cycles. My original impression was that one it was turned off it would not come back on until manually turned on, however, it coms on with every start up of the car, and if turned of stays off until the next start up.

I have the ECO start/stop on my 2014 GLK and frankly hate it. In Arizona heat the AC fans stay on but the compressor is off. I normally push the button to shut it off at the same time I press the start button.

I know they implemented the ECO for epa reasons, but seriously, there has to be a simple way to disable it, other than Renntech tuning.

Would never purchase a car with start/stop. The long term effects at MB parts and service prices are too gruesome to think about.
If it was any good, MB/DAG would warranty drivetrain for 10 years/100,000 miles.
