'14 E250 Bluetec order able yet?

Anyone know if the E250 Bluetec is order able yet? I have seen conflicting reports, is it available without 4matic, or does it only come with it? Lastly, if anyone has ordered it, what kind of deals are you getting? I'm looking to pick one up in Texas if there are any good dealers people have gotten good deals from?

Looking forward to my first MB!

I am driving a 2011 e350 CDI about to end it's 24 mo lease. I drove an Audi A7 CDI today and was absolutely shocked at how good a car it was. Far more responsive and peppy than my current E. I actually checked to make sure they gave me a CDI to test drive...it was that smooth and quiet...and fast (significantly faster pickup than my current e350). A truly remarkable car. The A6 CDI is the same care in different steel..likely a better buy, but I like the A7 styling.

I think the ride on a long trip is probably better in the MB, but the audi seems to be clearly the more fun car to drive everyday. Likely the MB is a better lease deal as well.

Before you order that MB, do yourself a favor and at least test drive the a6/a7 CDI and compare it to at least a 2013 MB CDI.

If you do test drive the audi...post here...I'd like to know how it went.

I drove the '14 Q5 TDI and '13 GLK250. I actually liked the MB engine better. The Q5 had more total power, but the MB had less lag to me so it actually felt faster to me. I'm also hoping that I can get close to the 10K off MSRP I see some people are getting so I can afford it!(I qualify for USAA at least).

The Audi A6 TDI is is significantly more powerful than the E350 CDI. And of course way more than the E250. The champ in that class is likely to be the BMW 535d (530d) in the rest of the world. The BMW and the Audi have 245hp, the E350 CDI had 220 (it was really the E300 CDI model) and and the E250 CDI has 195hp (204hp with Euro ratings). AWD and big wheels and tires all reduce mileage.

The question is, how much power do you need? In Europe the BMW 520d and E220 CDI and E250 CDI are common. 6-cylinder models relatively rare. All modern diesels should be pretty smooth. Modern spark ignition and compression ignition engines have high pressure direct injection and ECM systems that can keep to engine at in an acceptable knock range. All needed to squeeze the last ounce of fuel efficiency and low emissions out of it.

I didn't see it on the site yet. I care more about MPG than total power, the new 2.2 was plenty of power in the GLk.

little bit of but this might make your month goes faster if you pick up another rental from National (newer cars with less than 10k miles) .. read up on the flyertalk on the Emerald club deals.

Hope that helps.

2014 E250 Bluetec 4matic
I also ordered a 250 4matic at the end of June, just got the VIN, so it's definitely orderable.
