Advice on 14 E class, 300 or 350

I am looking on buying a e class while staying short of 70k

the e300 starts at 58k
while the e350 is 67k

now i would like to have at least the led lightning package and 1 more but the cost rises to atleast 73k

is the e300 a capable driver the last thing you want to do is buy and then think why didnt i get 350.

should i consider leasing then? give me some opinions i am heading to a dealer tomorow, from what i hear up here in canada the prices dont budge very much on the 14's.

we need a second car and i have just sold mine.

Only MBs - the best or nothing
What country is OP from? No E300 nor prices as above in US.

Edit: Never mind. Missed "canada".

Would you consider E250 Blue Tech?

None of these cars with smaller engines will be unsafe or unreasonable in traffic. The question becomes how important rapid acceleration is to you. They all get to the needed speed in average or less time compared to other cars on the road, so if economics are at all of a concern, why spend more on purchase and fuel just to accelerate a bit faster?

Most dealer stock 300s lack equipment that I personally consider important:
- Leather with ARTICO dashboard
- Pano roof
- KEYLESS GO
- harman/kardon
- AMG wheels (code 791) - the standard wheels are cheap looking IMO

Your needs may vary, of course.

FWIW, the 300 and 350 are the same engine, the 300 is just detuned.

Your other choice would be to buy the car in the US and bring it over. From what some other folks have posted here you can get the E350 with the P2 package in the low 50s. Note that this info is a couple of years old.

52k + hst (13%) + import tax (7%)...and its a hassle some dealers wont sell to canadians especially those with close corporate ties.

i might have to get it brokered, so add a couple percent's for him.

Actually the price difference is much smaller than it appears. If you add all the base equipment in the Canadian car to the US car, the price difference is less than 5K. The main price difference is the import duty. The US is 2% and Canada is 6.2%. If you buy the car in the US the 6.2% must be paid before entry into Canada. This excludes the ML because it is US built and duty free into Canada.

Petee - I have no doubt that your facts and figures are correct here, but the other real price difference is US dealers' willingness to discount compared to Canadian dealers.

So strawberry, where are you at? Did you pull the trigger?

Would you consider a demonstrator vehicle? Lots of E350 demos in Toronto and it would save you at least a couple grand...

Well idk about you when i configured an e class at mbusa with everything i wanted it came to about 56k-58k

when i went in yesterday the e350 configured to what i wanted at the dealer with freight/pdi and tax came out to over 82k thats stretching the budget a little too much.

the dealers also didnt budge more than a couple hundred

so i decided , screw this... it doesnt look too good anyways.

the ml350's however are priced really nicely as the 14's are starting to arrive this week. so why not

im interested in the ml360 BT
-amg pack
-bixenon headlamps
-seating pack
-sports pack
-premium pack

I had to go that day but he told me worst case scenario on any of the vehicles would be 70k (aka max price)

so ima push a couple buttons drag it down abit so that its at least square 70k with pdi/freight.

Obviously that is not the price for the E300. If you shop around a bit, you should expect 5 to 6% discount on a factory order 2014 E class and much more on any remaining 2013's because the dealers are getting incentives from MB to move the old stock.

MB Oakville giveaway sale? 5-6% off a 2014 E in the GTA is not happening, unless it's a demo (and even then it's a stretch).

yup they arent bargainaing much but they are saying if you buy a 2013 worst case scenario for a fully loaded will be high 60K = then plus taxes pdi yatayatayata.. and everyone has that model too.

no where did they offer 5% discount, maybe on a demo, but i want factory order.

im looking at a ML anyways.

and for the person above shocked yes 82K
