Thoughts on Chestnut interior...
I have a white with chestnut interior car on order. The color seemed darkish on the order guide but seeing (the very few) chestnut pictures online it looks pinkish. I originally had porcelain but did not want to deal with light color and the care it would require.
Those of you that have this color interior or have seen it in person can you describe it?
For e.g I am looking at these pictures:

I originally had one like that on order but swapped to mb tex for durability. It looks as you see in the photo and not as pinkish as you think. I'd say it looks more light mud brown.

I had a chestnut and brown brown ash (like in your link) on order and changed it to porcelain and black ash - mainly due to the pictures in your link. I don't know much about matching colors, bit the chestnut and brown definitely clash. I don't care about keeping porcelain clean. Griot's Garage interior cleaner does that very well. All that said, there's no accounting for taste.

It isn't pink at all unless the color changed for 2014. The color is very pleasant and far easier to take care of that porcelain.
Doesn't a local dealer have anything in stock in that color?

Good call on the dark ash wood. The open pore is too much with the Chestnut IMO.
I find the Chestnut has purple undertones in person. It is an odd color, not nearly as nice and rich as BMW's brown.

you are correct...I am shopping Audi/bmw diesels or an e550. They all lease for the same $'s on a 36 month lease equipped the way I want them. My current e350 has the light beige with dark brown leather dash, and I've never noticed a reflection in the windshield....however, I do want a black dash on my next car because it looks much better. I would order the chestnut interior, I guess with the black accents and the black dash. BMW's all have black dashboards and Audi gives you a choice.
I am currently leaning to the BMW 535D....I have already discarded the idea of a lower power E350 Diesel...that's not even a consideration. The new audi diesel is a remarkable car, but I really would prefer the A7 which is about 10K more even though it's just sheet metal on an A6. The e550 is certainly the speed demon of the group although the BMW/Audi are both 0-60 around 5.5 sec....but it burns premium gas and I suspect won't do well as the goverment forces E85 on us which may hurt resale, should I decide to buy the car. The audi electronics are terrific, but the link is 3G vs LTE, so it's not so fast..and it uses tmobile which has spotty coverage here. The BMW links to your cellphone for connectivity, so I can control connections.
BTW, the audi A6/7 with the 3.0 engine is actually exciting to drive...if you're considering a MB 350, it's definitely worth a drive. For a shock, ask to drive the diesel A6. Bet you can't tell you're driving a diesel..it has the performance and sound of a strong gas engined car.
decisions, decisions.

Agreed (about the leather color). I saw Chestnut once in perhaps and was shocked by how purple it was (or maybe violet might be a more accurate description). It's not what I would've called brown. And I think Natural Beige looks at all "natural" or "beige."

mbUSA build site shows three kinds of wood options, burl, black and some sort matte finish. I just ordered burl as I like the traditional shiny look. I was googling around and came across something called "light burl" in a 2014 dealer listing.
Are there two kinds of glossy burl available?
