a long run, Hartford to Toronto to Montreal.
70 mph the whole way. Some city driving around Toronto, but 95% highway.
Diesel in Canada was CAD1.328 per liter, which translates to US$4.82 gallon.
She took 19.3 gallons, the gas light had come on. I was hoping for 800 miles on the tank, but the city driving killed that idea.
Still, dang that's awesome mileage for a 4000 pound luxury car with 400 pounds of torque!

Just looked it up, your big boy has a larger tank:
Fuel Capacity
S-350 23.8
E-350 21.1
I can't wait to drive the new S class diesel. Also have a call into the dealer for when they get an E-250 Diesel in Luxury

Yes, the S has about 2 more gallons, however, even allowing for that I still regularly exceed 700 mi/tank. My S also puts out an additional 30hp and 55 lb-ft more torque. I could probably have pushed that tank to over 800 miles, but, I am quite content with a 5100 lb. car that gets this kind of mileage.

2014 E350 4M Sport. 2007 Acura MDX
wow those are great numbers! The 2014 E250 is rated at 28city/45highway and the 4matic version at 27city/42. Makes me want a diesel!
How is the maintenance on the diesels? cost-wise? any problems? Thanks

For some reason, Mercedes charges a lot more for diesel than the gasser. Does not make much sense, since I know Audi charges the same rate for the diesel cars, at least with the prepay. Of course BMW has free maintenance until 50k miles and not sure how there diesel compares after that.
For example, At my dealer, I was quoted $1465 for prepaid maintenance on an E250 and $844 for an E350. No way it should be that much more.
Mercedes will claim adblue and fuel filter as the reason, but not agreeing with that when adblue is so cheap.
