Rattling noises - rear shelf/c pillar?
I have a E200 CDI, 2011 W212 sedan with AMG styling and 18" AMG rims.
I have been plagued with some rattling noises from the back of the interior, and i am struggling to pinpoint the origin.
It happens when both wheels hit a bump/hole at the same time. If only one wheel hits a bump or hole in the ground, no rattling.
I have searched the site, and tried to check the roof lining by the back, and tighten everything up. Also tried to soundproof the back of the roof lining, but no success.
I believe it might be the c pillar og rear shelf...
I have reclining seets in the back, so the shelf is easily accessable, but how can i remove the cover of the c-pillar and the rear shelf to see where to tighten the bolts/screws/plastic clips?

I had a similar rattle. It was the rear window shade. When down it sometimes rattles, when up it doesn't. Since I live in the desert southwest, leaving it up is a simple, practical solution.

Thank you for your replies.
I was at the dealer and a technician joined me for a rest drive. We could both hear the rattle. So an appointment was made.
I hope it won't be too expensive, or hopefully the warranty covers it. The car came with 5 years warranty.

Just got it fixed at the dealership. They did the job under warranty. The rear shelf and the c pillar cover were rubbing against each other. The put some isolation on both sides, and the rattling stopped.
Thanks to everybody for their assistance, and especially @konigstiger.

Is there an exact description on your work order/receipt of what they discovered and how they resolved it? I have the same dang rattle and my dealership hasn't been able to identify the issue...even though its been a well known issue.

I'm sorry. Didn't get any work order receipt. They only fixed it, and said that they would take it through their warranty system.
