Battery Light Came on Navigation off

Hi i was driving and my Battery light came on orange ?

car is 2012 19k miles what does that mean ?

new battery ?

I went home turn the engine off then 5 minutes later turned it on no warning battery light and navigation was working.

Do i need a new battery or what ?

I don't know if the car saves a trouble code for an issue like this. If the light is out when you take it to the dealer they won't be able to do anything unless there is a code for it.

Or perhaps they could run an alternator load test?

This is a wild guess but could it be the warning to replace your key battery. I am assuming you keyless entry.

Thanks for the reply. Yes every time I turn off the car battery indicator light go off I will have to keep the engine running so the light stay on.

Twice it had happened will call dealership to schedule check up under warranty

No this is not a keyless entry

Just got back from the dealership checked everything told me nothing wrong but my light shows up once a day and command turns off after battery red light warning shows up.

Anyone had similar issues ? or any idea what can be going on.

Best advice:

Take video with your phone next time it happens. Clearly state in the video the date and time, and what you were doing when it happened. Demonstrate how you can "fix" the issue if you can with a restart.

Make sure to upload it to youtube so that it can be accessed by a tech at the dealer.

We were chasing down an intermittent issue with my backup camera (ended up being a loose pin in a connector in the wiring harness in my trunklid) - and the video was the only way I could prove it happening/the only real way they could diagnose the issue.

It just happens randomly, I can be driving and then the light pops up it going to be tough to take a video while it pops up when i am driving.

But i will take a video will show red battery warning light and central command turns off.

As soon as i turn off and start again i am good for rest of the day..

I can see this is going to become a nightmare to diagnose...
