Prepaid maintenance cost?

Prepaid maintenance cost?
A local dealership offered $1200 for a 3-year which seems a pretty bad deal. How much did you pay for 3-year or 5-year package and where did you get it?

When I bought my 2011 E350 three years ago now I went back to my dealer to buy the 5 year pre-paid service. It priced at over $1900. I was prepared to pay for it too but the service manager who sold the plan said that I don't want to get the 5-year plan. He said I need to get 3-year plan for $760 (or something like that). He informed me that the 3-year plan is cheap as MB competes against the free 3-year plan that BMW offers.
So I got the 3-year plan.
I don't know if MB has changed pricing with this. Pre-paying for 3-year plan at $1200 sounds way too high to me though. You will get the services done for the same money without pre-paying for them so why pre-pay?
And if you decide to trade your car in before the pre-paid services are done you will not get a refund nor will the pre-paid service be honored for the new owner.
I don't know what others think about it but I'm thinking your dealer may be trying to get some "extra" from you for the services MB covers under the pre-paid service plan for the lower cost I mentioned.
Or has MB dropped the low cost 3-year plan, anyone?

Paid about $750 in 2010 for three year. Five year was pretty expensive, so passed. Standard plan is from MBUSA and not the dealer, but dealers sell it. Honored by all dealers.
Unless your dealer is talking about some other pre-paid plan.
One way to determine best deal is to ask service dept. what they charge for 10K(1 yr.), 20K (2 yr.) and 30K (3 yr.) services. Of course, this assumes no price increases over next three years.
You have to get it before first service is required.
Also, it only covers Required services and not Recommended, so you need to look at your Maintenance Manual to see which and which and factor that in.

I have a 3 year maintenance that was put into my lease. About $750. I will not buy one again. A lot of money for basically 3 oil changes and inspections.
Go to a reputable Indy and save a ton of $$$. Or just wait for your dealer to have some service specials.

I just signed a lease for 27 months...maintenance was $795...actual cost to me for the A and B service required during that time is $254 (residual was 68%).
Now if you buy the car at the end of the lease, you will pay the additional $541 because it's part of the residual due at end of lease...but I just turn the car in so I never pay it. Just one of the tricks of leasing a MB car.

I was offered $899 for 30K/3-year plan yesterday for the same dealer and told this is firm nationwide (seems like a bullshyt).
Has anyone bought this 30K pack recently for less?

True, but read your lease....MB wants it's leased cars serviced by MB. (no, they can't require that for purchases, but they can for leased cars which they own, not you).
