How to defeat Hercules/any winter storm (tires)
Nokian Hakkapeliittas! absolutely amazing tire. Really digs in and grips the road through ice/snow etc.
Tested them against the Pirellis ( on the gfs cayenne) and the Blizzaks on the Range. The Nokians on the BENZ are the best hands down, will only use them from now on.
Cons-
Loud noise on dry roads
poor stopping on dry roads
burn up quick
Pros-
Fastest tire on ice
glued to the road
chops through everything
never have to worry about going through snow (if its not too high ground clearance is the only thing that worries me).
ENJOY your tank

I would say all snow tires are "good" they get the job done, but these Nokians are a performance tire. My buddy owns and industrial park with a long winding road barely plowed (just passed once). With my all seasons I couldn't go 15-20 without fear of sliding into the edge. I was averaging 35-45mph taking corners and just chewing up the road. It was amazing.
Now go your normal 20 MPH out on the main roads/back roads and you will not be stopped. I only fear snow drifts/when the plow leaves those piles in the road, my front is so low it worries me :/

I have used Nokian and Blizzak. The Nokians are great, but very noisy on dry roads. The Blizzaks are great, but tread life sucks. The "best" I have used is the Michelin X-Ice X3. Nearly as unstoppable as the Nokians, longer tread life than the Blizzaks, and amazingly quiet on dry roads. A great Winter tire.
