Lowering springs on 2014 E350 4matic
Hi Guys
I just got a 2014 E350 4matic. Thinking about lowering the car. I know both Eibach and H&R show that they don't make one for the 4matic sedan model, but I have heard that the non-4matic springs actually also work on the 4matic cars. For example, the springs for 535i works on the 535Xi.
Can someone confirm this?

I called h& r and also eibach today. Nothing as of yet but then again the woman receptionist at both places wouldn't let me talk to someone higher to see if they are making them.

I actually knew that. But I have heard that people used non-4 wheel drive springs on the 4WD models.
For example. I know that H&R 535i springs works on the 535xi. But H&R also said they don't have springs for the 4WD model.
I think Juliana21 has a 4matic car. She/he used Votgland springs on the car. I checked Votgland website. They also only have 2WD springs.
So I want confirmation from people who has used the 2WD springs on the 4matic models that everything is working ok.

It will probably work but the spring rates would be incorrect. That might be a problem in the long run.

Thanks Biggig
2006-C350. really stupid question. How would different spring rate affect the car? My simple mind always thought if the cars are the same weight, the springs will work the same.

I'm sure they work, I would just be concerned with the spring rate because they're made specifically for different weights.

But VOTGLAND specifically listed on their catalogue that the spring is for W212 model including the 4WD model. I wonder if they specifically engineered/designed for it.

You need to define "work." The vehicle will go down the road more or less the same.
But different spring rates will not only change the ride height but more importantly will change the vehicle dynamics.
So when you take it into a corner, stab the brakes and set a turn, the rebound characteristics may not provide the grip you need to get through the corner.
Wrong spring/damping rates can also result in accelerated tire wear.
Ever notice how much time race teams take on spring/shock setups?

Heaven forbid you try to take your friends on a ride in your 2WD car, you might just add another 300 lbs to the chassis and the whole car is going to explode! Better yet, just go on a diet!
None of you guys are tracking the cars and if you are you picked a wrong one to do it with. Seriously, the MB with the stock springs with a capable driver will outperform any of you guys with a perfect setup. I have yet to hear someone wanting to change the springs for better driving performance, all you want is smaller wheel gap with a ridiculously annoying ride.

You are absolutely correct. Not tracking at all. Just want a better looking car without any warranty or major issue. I completely admit it.

I have heard of replacing stock rubber pads with thinner ones can also lower the car . I would like to lower my car as well for sake of reducing wheel gap but can't lol Because it would do more harm than good towards speed bumps

Wait. Your car is on stock/OEM suspension set up??? it looks really low for stock.
May I ask what size of wheel you have? I was thinking about getting a set of 20"s. But the more and more I think about it and look at other people's car. I think I may down size to 19".

Because while F10 BMW looks good with 20" and fit ok with 21", W212 will not.
Also, Potholes are everywhere in Chicago. I damaged a set of wheel with each of my last two cars (20"s on the F10 BMW, 19" on the W204 MB).

Is your sig pic what the Vogtlands looks like, rolling 20's? Any other pics you can share, that one is dark? Those are 1.6" drop F/R correct? I run 19's in the summer, stocker 17" in the winter. I have the luxury, and want to go lower w/o looking slammed. Have you been happy with your setup? Looks good, nice job. Itching to pull the trigger, but.... Thanks

I'll confirm too, Eibach only makes kits for RWD W204s and I have been running the kit on my 4Matic for over a year with no issues.
I plan I moving to an E this year and had to comment
