W212 Performance Planning
I have a W212 E350 w/ Muffler Delete im looking for a way to increase overall car responsiveness without loosing much lowend tq.
I thought of having an X-pipe to replace the resonator and throwing on some mufflers (mainly for sound) and eventually getting a ECU tune/remap.
it seems like the engine does a fair job of bringing me up to speed but lacks power on the roll
What are my options towards making this car a lot more fun to drive without putting more than 3k?
It was purchased not leased.
Pics will be posted

I dont expect it to feel or sound like a 550, but I surely would appreciate it if it can rival it! Shifting also seems delayed when driven enthusiastically at higher revs.. Any suggestions on what a tune may do for that?

what about these air intakes?
Im not sure if these are just a gimmick or if they really work on the benz.

I was thinking bmc or knn air filter to help improve sound from the pipes

This is the one I want, haven't purchased it yet though so can't say I've vetted it.

If you wanted a performance car, why would you buy an E350? These cars are the replacements for your fathers's Buick.
Go trade the car on an M3 or C63. Those cars are ready to go.

Your kinda stuck with things you can do. A tune or mufflers or intake won't give much ..to get anything significant worth while you would have to spend thousands of dollars. And even then who knows,,,,,

It's pricey but Carlsson makes decent performance kits
V8 engines worth doing more but you should be able to feel the way it kicks in when you accelerate with those kits

Thanks to all of you guys, ive considered a few options here...
Part of my plan to modify my car is to increase my sentimental bond that i currently have with my car.. There's nothing more rewarding than the exhilaration you receive from working hard and improving what you got!
I went to a dealer to get an estimate towards a E550 (same year/mileage) and it wouldhve costed me about 8k for the upgrade!
I would sell it privately, but its not worth the hassle..
going to hold onto this for about 1-2more years (until warranty expires and depreciates out of company pocket)

Thats definite. im not looking to race, im just looking for primarily sound and acceleration. Pushing it over 60 is not really a necessity in my case!
