Hey guys, since i got my new car in i have noticed something in the navi screen. On like the last inch or two of top the screen there is this blue band, has like little white specks in it. It only comes on when the screen is in full screen navigation. Any idea's on what this is?

 

im not sure of this, but i think you have your navigation in 3D mode, and that bar is the night sky with stars in it....

 

yeah but does it name the stars for you?

Haha no bro this was a real question. Didn't have this little strip on my last w212 navi so i was a bit concerned it was a glitch or something!

 

Drive in a hilly or mountainous area, and it will make sense

 

It's the new Bird-***** avoidance app from MB! Unfortunately due to the inherited slowness of the system, the winged creatures have already left their marks on your vehicle. Totally useless. I've disabled mine.

I know what you are talking about as this happened to me once.

Try resetting the system in the engineering pages. Helped my case.

 

during the day it displays a sky blue sky with clouds.. threw me off at first too

 

One thing that throws me off is that in all my previous navigators while the car is in motion, it displayed as moving towards the top of the screen. But with this navigation the car is moving in all different directions

 

Try Settings.

You'll find 3D, 2D, head up, head north, etc...

 

You probably want to select "Head Up." This way the direction you are driving is always pointed up to you rear view mirror.
