Synching Phone Contacts (iPhone)

When I attempt to synch the contacts off my iPhone (5) to my 2103 E Class, the end result states "0 contacts received" on the Comand screen.

Any ideas on what I may be doing wrong? I'm connected via BT when attempting the synching.

Would appreciate any help. Thanks!

Does the car use the phone normally otherwise? As in can you make calls?

Do you have your contact on some custom contact list on your phone? If you go to Phone > Contacts > Groups are all the lists checked?

Yes, I am able to make and receive calls via BT.

My contacts are not on a custom contact list. After "phone," I don't have a "contacts" option.

When you touch the phone app icon, that open the phone app on the phone. Along the bottom you should see favorites, Recents, Contacts, Keypad, and Voicemail. That's where you can see contacts.

There is also a contacts icon on one of the screens.

No "groups" under contacts. In any event, I've never set-up any custom groups. Anything else I should try/check? Thanks.

Check the next option:

Settings > Bluetooth > Tap the blue 'i' next to the MB Bluetooth listing

On the next screen make sure 'Sync Contacts' is enabled

I don't have any other recommendations other then deleting the phone from the car, resetting the phone, then connect it to the car again.

Did you go to the bottom left of the phone menu to download contacts?

Yes, I did. I chose to import contacts from phone (forget exact wording). The Comand system looked like it was processing information but the output I received was "0 Contacts Received."

I'd stop by the dealer and ask them. At the MB dealer I went too they have the younger porters trained on all the electronic stuff so they just jump in the car and help out real quick without tiring up a service adviser. Maybe they can take a quick look for you.

So I attempted to synch the contacts off my iPhone again today. Once again, the message I received was "0 contacts received." However, after looking closely, I discovered that the contacts were indeed transfered to Comand. I tested it by triggering a call by using the voice regonition capabilities. It worked! Thanks again for everyone's help. It is much appreciated.

I had the same issue, but in my case it was trying to transfer 5,000 contacts! About 4,900 of them were simple email addresses that Outlook had added to my phones main contact list. I downloaded an app that searches contacts and then allows you to do a mass delete based on contacts that have no numbers, or if they have just an email, or no names etc. The app was called MultiDelete.

After that it synced fine, but I have no clue what the limit is.
