I Need Help With Tire Sizing For XO Miami 20" Wheels

Hi guys, this place is awesome and I'm glad I found it. The members here are great. I've been reading for hours the last few nights and have learned a lot about my car already.

Last Wednesday I bought a CPO 2012 E350 Bluetec Sport. I love the car but its 17" stock rims have to go. I have been looking around the past few days and think I am going to go with these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/20-XO-MIAMI-BRUSHED-CONCAVE-WHEELS-RIMS-FITS-BENZ-W212-E350-E550-E63-/291053300376?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr&hash=item43c420ea98The only problem that I'm having now is that I'm not sure which tire sizes to get given the offset. I have read a lot of great threads with ThreeMB's and Bigigg helping out with questions like these but I havent been able to find any with this specific offset. I want them to fit pretty flush with the fender without chance of rubbing and I do not plan on lowering the car, well I don't plan on that right now at least. Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks!

20x9 35et with 245/30/20 tires will work up front and 20x10.5 45et with 275/30/20 or 285/25/20 back will work. This setup will work lowered with 1.5 inches. Good luck and post some pics.

I probably should have posted this link instead: http://www.ebay.com/itm/201025394903...84.m1423.l2649
I has a better description of the rims. They are 20x8.5 et44 front and 20x10 et42 rear. Which tires would work well for that?

Thanks for the quick reply Ed99, I will definitely post some nice pics once I have them installed.

Fronts with 44 offset is going to be tucked in, won't be flush fitment.

On that 8.5" front rim I would run a 235x35x20 with a spacer and a 275x30x20 rear.

OK - I'm going to order these rims on Friday. So just to summarize... For 20X8.5 et44 Front, I should use 235/35/20 tires with a 10mm spacer. For 20x9.5 et 42, I should use 275/30/20 tires with no spacer. Does everyone pretty much agree with this, for a very close to flush stance?

Again, thanks guys, I'm totally lost with this kind of thing. I appreciate you all.

You should go for 20x10.5 45et. 9.5 42et will not be flush in the rear.

Only MBs - the best or nothing
1. 275/30-20 should not be mounted on anything wider than 10" wheel.

2. 10.5" et45 wheel would be passed fender by about the same amount as 9.5" et42 would be "in.

3. Didn't the OP originally state that rear wheels are 10" et42? That's 100% flush fitment.

Good Morning threeMB's, yes, that is correct - they are 10" et42 in the rear. I've been looking at so many rim combo's the last few nights, I got mixed up in my post last night.

OK - Its good to know that the rear is going to be flush with 275/30/20. How do you feel about the front? 235/35/20 with a 10mm spacer? Or is there another tire/spacer size I should be looking at for 20X8.5" et44?

If you read what I was saying all along (elsewhere) 235/35-20 tire is the only 20" size I would use (except for E550 sedans with airmatic which can accommodate 245/35-20, it of course is not available on E350). Front you can use 10mm or 12mm spacers, just make sure to get the correct H&R (I would not use any other brand) part number - 20556659 or 24556659, and longer bolts.

So... I ended up ordering just now. Bought them from Need 4 Speed Motorsports in Glendale, CA. Tiko, the shop guy there talked me into getting a custom offset of et37 for the fronts with 235/35/20 and et42 in the rear with 275/30/20. He said it would be very slightly tucked in front, but I wouldn't have any issues with rubbing and I wouldn't need to go with spacers. He sounded like he knew his business so I guess I will find out in 3 weeks when they get dropshipped from the manufacturer in FL. Now the hard part... waiting for 3 weeks!!! lol

I'm still waiting on the rims to come in, though I have received the tires and the new tire pressure sensors... The more I've been looking around, the more I think that I should go ahead and drop it a bit while I'm at it.

Will this work, without rubbing or other issues with my configuration? http://pages.ebay.com/motors/link/?n...879855&alt=web

Looking nice. Question, was the pictured car dropped with http://www.ebay.com/itm/271487879855 HR springs? Do you know how much of a drop was it was with the new wheel/tire comb? How much did the HR Spring actually drop the car? We're you able to fit 2 fingers into the fender well ? Most appreciate your answe and photos if possible.

H&R Springs drop the car ~ 1" front and rear and helps the car look great without rubbing

preffered tire sizing is

245/30/20
275/30/20 or 285/25/20

the 285/25/20 tires are really hard to come by right now as most tire companies are switching models so they aren't producing the usual tires to be in stock.

Davidkuo0330, I didn't install springs on the car yet and am not sure that I will. I can just barely get two fingers between the tire and the fender. It really doesn't need to be dropped IMO. There is another set that drops the car a little less .6" and I may get that, not sure yet... I will post better pics this weekend.

Thanks bro. Man, I'm a little worried that I'll rub if I lower, I can barely get two fingers under there. Do you think it will rub lowered?

I know much less than others around here, but for comparison I dropped my 2010 sedan here (on 19s though after springs settled)
2010 W212

On my coupe, I run 20's and I get slight rubbing on the rear when I have adult passengers and hit a decent sized bump or dip. Hasn't quite settled yet.
2014 C207

I did have to get 3mm spacers on the front since I was rubbing against the strut. But I think the coupe doesn't have as much room as the sedan. Again, guys like threeMBs know much better.

Beautiful rides! I'm going to take it here next week: http://www.americanwheelandtire.com/ I'll see what they think. If they say it will be ok, I'll have them install the springs. I think it would definitely look a little sexier lowered, I just don't want any damage.
