myCARFAX FREE Account - Beta Test
Today I received an email from CarFax saying I was selected to beta test their new mycarfax service for free. It shows the full service history on my 12 Benz and it reminds me of when to change the oil, rotate the tires, and other maintenance.

i also added multiple cars - Lexus - 09 Benz and surprise it was all there

UPDATE: It was pretty neat to see the details of the services posted on both my cars. For my car, I compared this to the actual carfax I got at the time and this had a little more detail on the dealer services performed by the prior owner.

The service reminders are pretty generic and you would need to customize them for each car if you want to bother since the car reminds you anyway. You can enter your current mileage which may help with the formula they It has a lookup for repair/mechanic services that no better than google IMO so I am not sure why you would use that. They have a cost estimator for repairs but it does not appear to be car specific (i.e. cost of MB service versus Honda) so not much help there.

Was hoping they would let you see the other carfax activity for your cars but it only covers maintenance. At least you will know what your dealer is reporting.

Worked for me. I added my previous 2 Mercedes which I traded in so I could see what's being done with them and how many miles they have on them now. Pretty interesting.

If you have the license number and state of any car, it will show service history. Kinda creepy.

got service on my wife's car a few days. Just an oil change and tire rotation. Even though she drives a honda, the local Toyota dealer had a special going on. I had completely forgotten about signing up for this service. Today I got an email from mycarfax saying there's been a service update on the car. Sure enough the record was accurate.
