2011 e350 4matic 2010 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited lifted and loaded

H&R vs Eibach - e350 4matic SoCal roads

In Orange County. Roads certainly aren't good around town or on the highways. Worried about ride quality deteriorating with a drop and a set of 20" wheels. How bad are we talking with this change? It's a 2011 sport model on 18" factory wheels currently.

Would like to hear feedback on eibach vs HR ride quality. If anyone is local I'd actually love to meet up and take a ride if possible.

No Eibach, no H&R

The only springs you can fit on 4matic are Vogland. I've tried Eibach, don't repeat my mistake. Bogland fits perfectly

For W212 estate you need H&R lowering module/springs combo, I believe. You have springs front suspension and air springs in the back.

There isn't that huge of a difference in ride, from going two sizes up suprisingly. It will be tolerable, but large potholes will be definately be harsher

Hmmm...guarantee your ride will suffer. Anyone telling you different is trying to hide the fact they dropped a lot of money for little return and don't want to look foolish to their peers.

But what's more important to you? Exterior appearance or ride quality?

Is your car a daily driver or a show car?

ride quality is important. Moreso than looks, but looks are important as well.

I didn't buy a mercedes to bounce all over the road or cringe when I hit a bump.

Interesting that 4matics can't use the same springs as rwd. Lots of conflicting information about this on the forums.

FYI...I believe I do have springs all the way around. I don't have any controls for air ride on the inside so I don't think thats a problem

On the 20" wheels, you need to relegate yourself to the fact that one can be driving down the road and suddenly hit a pothole which completely disables the car.

We often forget, the rear wheels will roll over the same pothole the front hits....

Only saying because it happened to me, and I'm now freaked over taking my car on any long drives...even worse since its a diesel!

Completely changed my perspective on low profile setups. It's less about the ride quality, way more about getting stuck somewhere, which will happen, just you'll never know when.
