Measurements
Hi All,
This is my first post on this awesome forum that I've been lurking on for a while. I'm in the market for a new vehicle and due to two large dogs (retired racing Greyhounds) I need a vehicle with space. My last five vehicles (BMW X5, VW Touareg TDI, Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland, Acura RDX and currently Volvo XC90) have been SUV's but this time looking at some alternatives. So, on my shortlist is the E-350 wagon and BMW 535i GT.
I'm strongly leaning towards the E-350 wagon in sport guise. The GT is awesome from some angles and hideous from others. It is also rather tankish. I've test driven the E-350 for about 20 minutes with a mix of highway and back roads and was pleasantly surprised by its handling and performance.
One thing I'd really appreciate is if someone who owns the 2014 - 2015 model could measure both the width of the cargo area at its narrowest point and the length of the space between the hatch and the back of the front seats with the 2nd row folded down? This will certainly help me out and I'd really appreciate it.
To those of you who own one of these cars, how do you like them and what don't you like about them?

EDIT: The length measurement is only from back of 2nd row to hatch. Anyone have the measurement from back of front seats to hatch? Thanks.

it's 75" from the backrest of the driver's seat (based on my driving position -- i'm 5' 8") to the hatch. You can gain a few more inches if you move the seat forward.
it's a great car -- i have a 90lb GS and the trunk area is more than enough. I don't even bother folding the rear seats. There is also a net separating the cargo area from the 2nd row. hope this helps.
