2011 E550 P2 4M Sedan
I've had an E550 for almost a year and a half and I would get one again. I do enjoy the car. The V8 is a big part of it for me so I'm not sure I'd want the same car with the other engine options. Maybe the E400 but I haven't driven one yet. I don't think AMG is for me. While I would enjoy the power and handling and have the utmost respect for the brand, I would be discouraged by the higher costs for maintenance, insurance, etc.
If I could do it over again, I would hold out for the color, options, etc. that I want - so I might have to wait a while. But I am still happy with what I got.

Yes,
I would buy the E550 again any day of the week and twice on Sunday.
Reasons are many but, I'll try a quick ranking...
1. The V8 power....lots of smiles per gallon
2. The active seat...I just love it.
3. Sound system.....i'm pretty hard to impress in this department however, it rocks!
4. Headlight performance...the auto high-beam low-beam and the clarity. I guess I could lump the auto wiper function in here as well. Two things that I no longer have to think about.
5. Traction in the snow...It is quite remarkable, better than my Subaru with 4 snow tires. Or my wife's full size 4x4 chevy.
6. General luxury of ride quality and materials.
7. Looks / styling outside and in........Shines up like new.
8. Of all the cars I have owned it is the only one that gets "noticed".
I feel like I could go on and on but, I think you get the idea.

^ I'm with all of them. My second 500 series E class. 4Matic is wicked in the Chicago winters and such a confidence builder in bad weather. The E550 on the highway is hard to beat and I personally would not know what else to even look at. I am happy as a pig in Sh

2014 E550, 2015 E63S, 2017 G63 - RIP
On my 3rd E550, drove W211 E500 and W210 E55 before that; about 15 years with V8 E-Class.
IMHO a perfect balance of luxury, performance and daily "drivability".

I had an E63 that I absolutely adored!! The car was amazingly fast and comfortable for the multiple 1,200 mile + round trips that we take to Canada every year. Plus, the car was quiet, and the safest thing on wheels (which matters to me since I have a 6-year old daughter and must keep her safe).
Our E63 only got sold because while I was at the Mercedes dealer asking them a few questions, someone offered to buy it from me on the spot! I named a price, they agreed, and 2 days later it was gone. LOL! Evidently they appreciated how staggering perfect that car really is.
At some point I will get another E63 sedan, or one of the mega-stealthy E63 Wagons. Most likely we will sell my wife's Audi S5 next year and start the search for another V8 barnstormer for our garage.

Another one
Ok. I have one more.
I was out of town a little while back and I HADto take my wives truck because I was helping my parents move a couple things around. So, she had a few day alone with my car. For the record her truck is a 2012 crew cab Chevy, nice but, NO Mercedes.
A few days after I got back home the things get back to normal, that night as we are snuggling in she leans over and says.." I don't think I can drive your car anymore" Now, we do not exactly see eye to eye on most car issues. I kid with her all the time and tell people she is half redneck and half trucker. She LOVES her truck. So, I say "why can't you drive my car anymore??" She says, "because after driving your car my truck seems broke"!!! For the first time she really got how cool these cars really are.....Priceless.

I love the car and would buy it again. I have put 22,000 miles on it in two years and the only issue was fixing the faded wood that the dealer took care of. Other than that the car has been perfect.
As many people said there is a long list of great features about the car but to me the two best features are the smooth power that is always there and the distronic system.
For the money, I don't think the car can be beat. I am a little sad to see it no longer being made.

Well, knowing what I know now i think I might wait a bit for the E550 2014 to drop a bit then try to buy that..
I should've purchased a E350 over my 2011 Maxima and would've been okay paying a little more for a MUCH better car...
I know it's not on the same level but OMG the road noise from the Maxima is nauseating, and I have BRAND new all around Mich A/S tires... $1k worth of tires.. helped a little but not much, the handling increased dramatically but that is about it...

both of my W212's were rock solid: I'd buy one again sure! A great driving car with tons of power and luxury, I put about 43K miles on the 550 and only about 8k miles on the E63 before I traded it for something else

We have both extremes of the E class range, an E250 Bluetec and an E63. We love them both. The fuel economy in the Bluetec is unmatched. The E63 is such an emotional experience, the acceleration and exhaust note are pure excitement. The luxury and safety available in either is fantastic. No regrets on either here.

I would buy one again no doubt... I LOVE driving the car every day. The only thing I would change is to get nappa leather and the driver assistance package.

4 years and 44,000 miles and still love the car every night when I walk out of the office, into the garage and seeing sitting there. If MB were still making the V8 version in the non AMG I'd probably be working on a 2016 order now. This car eats of the miles and provides a ton of smiles. Power, comfort, styling and features just can't be beat as a total package.
