I am almost positive they don't have dipsticks, you just have to check it from the dash. I had the w211 E55 and it was like this, ill be honest I have not checked under the hood on my W212 but im sure its the same.

Like most modern day transmission, its probably a sealed unit.

Perhaps I am misunderstanding the use of "sealed." The 7-G Tronic/7-G-Tronic Plus transmission is not "sealed for life." As I recall, the 7g is 39k miles service and the Plus 70-80k. Did I miss the point?

Sealed usually means no dipstick and they don't want you to check the fluid from the top. You can drain and fill from underneath.

It can be done without the 'special tools' but it will be messy and you'll be guessing at the fill level. I advise against DIY without the tools and take it to a good indy and ask them how they do it after familiarizing yourself with the procedure. Best write up I've seen...........

If it isn't complicated to maintain, it would not be German engineering

Great info, great link!

I got access to WIS, all I need is the STAR equipment tool. But someone knows which version to buy and where(for the best price)?
