ok couple of questions for those with airmatic
Does your car make an air escaping sound when you park and turn off the car? does your car rise automatically some times?
Also those of you with lowering links. Is it a pita to install? does it mess with the ride quality? Would you have rather used a lowering module or are you happy with the links?

The last time I brought it in they supposedly replaced some parts to correct the sagging rear end when the car has been sitting but I left it for 2 days this week and when I came back it was lower than ever.
This time it was so low I am thinking the car literally sat on the tire which I'm not too happy about.
I'm taking it in for service B soon and will see what they say.
No info on the links.

I don't think I have ever heard my car hiss when I park it, at least not to the point where it draws my attention. When I come back from a weekend, my wheel gap height is exactly the same as before I left.

Mine hisses whenever I get in or out of it. More so when I have larger passengers. I keep a tape measure nearby in my garage just to check the levels, but it nevers seems to vary more than half an inch. Most of the time after a day or two it is dead on with the 'before' measurement.

Mines hisses whenever I get out and the more of a load I have in the car the longer louder the hiss tends to be. Since it's been cold my car has been lower then normal in the morning. Usually the back and the front about the same but on days when it was below 20 F it seemed to be lower in the back.

2014 E550-sold 😩
The car will self level and either raise itself or pop out some short bursts of air-Fart. It could relief itself by hissing as well. Whatever it wants to do, it will do on it's own whether running or not. This is completely normal. I have walked into the garage an hour after parking and it will pass gas when I walk by. They have a mind of their own.

AIRmatic is always awake, monitoring ride height to a certain degree. When parked it will settle some. Open the door, it readies as if you are going for a ride, using air stored in the accumulator tank. If you don't go anywhere it will settle back down again.
I used lowering links for over a year and loved them. Easy to adjust. Removing the stock plastic links is the hardest part. People would stop and stare at cruise nights because with the custom 55Tech grille and flat badge, the AMG Sport is Hulk in a tuxedo.
I removed them because I am pondering a coilover replacement and this will help with the cost. They are the more expensive billets, but for sale in the Classifieds forum under Suspension. How convenient...
Stay tuned for a separate post about an overseas handheld device that I am testing out of boredom. It's like having a mini-STAR Palm Pilot. Working through some issues triggering adaptation clears and component tests, but reads beautifully from what I can tell. I used it to observe AIRmatic behavior. I have one rear sensor that at rest reads about 700mv higher than the other despite fairly even ride height.

Agreed. Having just replaced the rear air bags, doing some reading, and performing a few experiments:

I bought from Adjustable Air Ride. Check out the web site, and if you like them, but are put off by the price, mine are for sale in the Classifieds. What I like most about them is how easy they are to adjust. The stock plastic links are fiddly to remove, even with a squirt of PB Blaster to remove the gunk. The AAR link sockets are made of a softer material so they can be popped off/on the ball.
I'm not going to post about the handheld scanner b/c it did not work as advertised, and customer service was horrible. After three days of Who's On First I demanded a refund, and it's going back tomorrow. Like dealing with children.

Yes, can hear the hissing sound pretty much every time the car is parked.
Have lowering links by Ghost Motorsports installed - HIGHLY recommend those guys (ask for Alex - he is great).
It took a few attempts to get the car to the desired hight and ensure it's perfectly symmetrical once parked on a leveled surface; an hour worth of work overall.

If you're not in cold area then it's less likely it will sag and I've read it's ok to sag slightly but it's within reason if the car sits long and suspension goes into Park mode so to speak.

Does your car make an air escaping sound when you park and turn off the car? does your car rise automatically some times?
Also those of you with lowering links. Is it a pita to install? does it mess with the ride quality? Would you have rather used a lowering module or are you happy with the links?

I own a C class W205 and it has AIRMATIC. So for I love it, here is a clip where you see the car lowering and rising. I speeded the clip x8 when the height adjusts.

Great vid so people can actually see the difference. I usually just look at the star on my hood and it's the easiest way to see the difference from inside at least. It's very subtle but when you look at the wheel well it seems like a huge difference.

It's Normal to hiss after you park. Also the links are awesome. It's a must imo.
