E350 chirping Uh Oh brakes

My 2014 E350 (21k miles) just started making a weird Uh Oh high pitched sound when depressing the brake pedal. It come and goes. When it is making the noise, I can pump the brakes and the sounds does not go away for several pumps. There is no sound of squeaking brake pads outside the car. The noise is similar to that of a small dog making a chirpy squeak sound like an Uh Oh. I've noticed it happens more often when the heat is on or the interior of the car is hot. It is definitely linked to pressing the brake pedal and sounds hydraulic to me. Thoughts? Dealer thinks I am nuts.

what do you mean "uh oh" sound? you sure theres no one hiding in the boot and making that noise everytime you step on the brakes?
like..."uh oh, its gonna hit!"

kidding aside, how loud is the noise and which side of the car is it coming from? rear, front, left or right?

It is coming from under the driver side dash. It sounds like it is right below the steering wheel. It does sound like a small child say Uh Oh. The Uh is on the start of the press. The Oh is as the pedal goes partially down. Fully depressed it quits sometimes until the car stops.

I should add there is no noise outside the car. It sounds like a rubber on rubber sound almost like a plunger rubbing. It is very odd.
And yes, I checked the boot to be sure it was empty.

Yes. Dealer said they looked at it and it was probably glazed brake pads. They were not very interested. However, there is no noise outside the car when the noise happens (my partner confirmed when we tested it). I never had this problem with my old C320. I've done the 50 to 0 stop a few times and the noise still comes and goes. It seem so to occur after the car has been running / driving awhile. It does not happen when the car is cold / first running. I thought it might be a hydraulic pump. Friends were in the car the other day and were joking that I was able to play a tune on my breaks. It sounds like a recorder or panflute. The tone can be controlled by how far down the break pedal goes (when the sound starts). It is infuriating.

try another dealership, seems easy to replicate the sound so if you can drive the car with the technician on-board, thatll be better.

Does it make the noise when the motor isn't running and you pump the pedal? It could just be in the mechanism under the dash.

No noise when the engine is not running and I pump the pedal. I also pumped the pedal several times and then started the car with my foot firmly pressing on the pedal. The pedal moved the usual quarter inch or so. I have been reading about power booster problems and wonder if it is related to that. The sound starts when first pressing and lightly holding the pedal. it changes tone when pressing/holding the pedal about half way down. When almost all the way down it stops. If I am coasting up to a light with light pressure on the pedal, it will whistle for the whole time and I can make it go back and forth between the tones by adjusting pressure on the pedal. I had an assistant listen outside the car and they heard no sound while inside I had the whistle loud and clear.

Sounds like a vacuum leak.Check the hoses to/from the booster for being loose or split. Lift the hood and listens while you pump the pedal with the motor running.

Does the sound frequency change with speed? If so it is probably the pads vibrating on the rotor. The pins and springs that position the pads in the caliper can also vibrate. See if there's any stress corrosion/red rust on them where they touch another part. A good clean/lube with high temp ceramic paste at appropriate points usually quiets brake squeal... but not always permanently. How about a sound clip?

Sound does not change with speed. Just depth pedal is pushed in.

While stopped, does not make the noise while the pedal is all the way down. Lift a bit (no movement of car) and it starts. If it is a pad vibrating, is that normal? Would it be a warranty item?

If there's no movement it can't be the pad vibrating. The vibration is caused by the movement of the rotor. If it does it while the trans is in neutral it can't be the pad/rotor vibration. The noise is definitely a warranty item no matter what causes it. Send the video to your service advisor.

haven't heard anything like that from the brakes. They should definitely address.

Sounds like a kid's recorder or kazoo. Get them to ride with you so you can play them a tune. Keep us posted.
