Samsung S7 bluetooth issues
Not sure if anyone else has experienced this but all signs point to older BT SW on the benz vs the brand new SW on the phone. But want to see if others are having similar troubles.
Thanks.
S6 edge spec: Bluetooth v4.1, A2DP, LE, apt-X - NO ISSUES with MB
S7 edge spec: Bluetooth v4.2, A2DP, LE, apt-X
For info...bluetooth version from head unit: s/w f/w ver: C0360

After you paired, did you get a message on the S7 about the car wanting access to call logs and contacts?

behavior is this: it looks like it connects for about 5 seconds then the audio and media settings under the bluetooth for the car are moved to off. when I try to turn them on, it says cant connect to car. the car, however, still shows connection to the phone and then gets hung up (meaning I cant delete the pairing) until I restart the car.

Maybe you need to have your HU firmware updated to latest version?

i hope that it is something simpler as my experience with MB to get firmware updates is like asking for someone's first born.

Dealer always has done that without any question. If there is an update, they'll show me what version my car had, and what version they updated it to.

Restarted car, unpaired phone. Deauthorizing phone. Restarted car. Repaired via external authorization. Worked again. And again after restart Bluetooth behaved the same way.
I think the only thing I can think of at this point is that command sw and fw has to be updated.
Will do next time I am at the dealer...
Ugggg

Makes sense to be sure your 2011 is up to date with the latest firmware for comand. Although I doubt they are still coming out with updates, you may still have an older version. Good luck.
I was able to do this by going into the engineering menu and wiping out all phones from the system from there. I also changed a setting for bluetooth speed (under the SW Setting menu on page one of the engineering menu) to be active, though I am not sure if it was that or the full reset of information that did the trick.
Now to figure out how to get it to maintain the connection between car stops!
Just wanted to let you know.
Here is what i had to do
Update the phone
De-authorized all devices on HU
Unpair from my phone
External authorization from HU and got it setup and working
turned car off/on and it didnt reconnect
when to BT audio and click on the samsung and it connected (which it never did before)
thereafter, it connected after a restart or power on/off of HU
YAH!!!
(Now, let's just hope they don't break it in a future update!)
Had 0 issues with previous phones.
Very frustrating is an understatement.
EDIT: Just spent an hour at the dealer getting the firmware update - same sh*t.
Car is 2012 CLS63.

I guess I'll have to wait to update android for a fix. It doesn't seem that updating comand firmware changed anything for others. I use this feature everyday so being disconnected is a pain. Going through external authorization for long trips isn't a big deal. But short trips it's too much hassle to keep re-authorizing the phone.
