Why dont you just dip them? Gotta be a lot cheaper and easier and you can always peel it off later if you want. I have those same rims btw and they dont kill me either, but I'm replacing them with some stock 17's and going away from the stagger setup.

Try this

If you use glossifier you can get away from the flat black.

im a fan of dipping but glossifier would not do much as compared to actual paint or more so powdercoating. not to mention brake dust sticking on it.

i wonder how much it would cost to powdercoat all 4 wheels from your end. reason i ask is its so expensive to have it done down here and you might be better off getting a new set or even aftermarket.

if you reckon that price is ok then go for it.
but just to give you a heads up, its not gonna be as eye catchy as it would with an aftermarket black wheels.

I know but I feel it will be a cheaper route then getting new rims and then having to get new tires etc..

it will be but you basically wont get "the result" you want and itll be $600 from your pocket.

but its totally up to you mate. looks is always subjective, what i see as ok might not be good for you and vice versa. if youll be happy with it, thats what matters.

Getting a fresh paint job and fixing the rashes might be worth $600. I had those wheels on my 350 as well and when I found out all 4 were bent, I decided those were now winter wheels and I got my aftermarket wheels lol

edit: Stealership quoted $160/wheel to fix the bends and rash that I had, btw. So you figure throwing in paint on top of that, if it only came out to $600, I could probably justify that.

This is just me but you might want to go with new wheels. If you're investing $600 as it is maybe consider saving up some more for new ones and dipping them as a temporary solution?

Powder coating them would effect resale value if you ever decided to sell your car where with dipping you can peel them or new wheels swap them out. Here's a picture of my previous car with dipped factory wheels. Good luck !

Dipping looks nice too.

refurbishing my rims and powder coating them seems like a more cost effiecent way of going rather than spending more on rims and then tires.
Mine are 18in so they are pretty decent .
If I ever got rims they would be vossens 100%

Hi OP, I have a set of HRE R43 in gloss black for only 500 bucks........sorry to vulture you lol!

Years ago I had my stocks powder coated in satin black and was very pleased with the results.....I don't recall the price exactly, but it wasn't expensive for all 4. I chose satin finish over gloss to avoid having to ALWAYS wipe them down. After I did that I ended up getting two more sets for the car LOL!
GL to ya!!

I recently had mine powder coated. I went back with the OEM color for resale value. They look like new wheels for a lot less $ than new.
