Took my 2010 E550 in for B2 service
Haven't posted on this board in a while but frequently read up.. I'm the original owner of a 2010 E550, my car is pristine and barely driven with only 22k miles on it.. Took it in for B2 service which cost me $1500 dollars alone but I was offered a 3 year pre paid maintenance plan for $1550 which covered my B2 plus 2 more years of service .. So I signed and accepted..
My car is 6 years old and I anticipated the 6 year or 60,000 mile service.. The service attendant had my car written up for the 4 year 40,000 mile service which I already took care of 2 years ago.. He said yes I can see that on the system that you've already done the 4 year service but this is how it's written up and part of the work your current B2 service requires. I said um okay.. So I get my car back and go home and go through the receipt and see that they changed the gear (tranny oil) again.. Now I'm really puzzled because my tranny oil was changed 2 years ago.. Even worse I noticed when I'm braking my car to come to a stop at a red light my car would slightly lunge forward right before coming to a full stop.. I've never in 6 years of ownership experienced that with my car.. Im extremely frustrated and can't wait to get into the dealership when they reopen on Tuesday morning..
You guys think my tranny is messed up? thoughts please. Thanks

It should have been a normal B service with brake fluid plus plugs which are due at 6y/60k. At dealer costs around me that would run about $1,000-1,100. ATF wouldn't be due again until 8y/80k in your case but that runs about $400. There is something going on for the bill to be $1,500 unless they did the plugs as well (not sure based on your description).
It sounds like the BS'd you into the service pack by saying the ATF was due when it wasn't. I paid $1,100 for my 3 pack about 2 years ago so they also may have overcharged you. That said the 3 pack is a good value for the 60, 70, and 80k services for your model at dealer prices.
And the tranny should not be jerky now. Definitely take it back and show them what's it doing. And make sure they changed the spark plugs.

Also to add if the Spark plugs were supposed to be changed then also all 8 ignition coils should be change as well.
I had to learn the hard way of not replacing them all both at the same time

Thanks for the feedback. They explained that the 40k or 4 year service was never performed and my ATF was not previously done and that is why they did it now... I hope they didn't change the ATF twice within 2 years. I will still take it in to check the tranny jerk although that symptom seems to have subsided in the past few days.. strange

Between this and the either unnecessary or missed tranny service, you've got enough reason to say something to the service manager. What a joke.
