new oem wiper blades from Dealer skip
Went and bought oem wiper blades from dealer. Went on vacation and first time I needed to use them they started skipping. They skip worse than my old wipers. The new ones work great when it rains hard and they are used faster but when the rain slows down they start skipping. Used forums advice and bought Bosh Icon 24OE. Installed them in less than a minute. Next day we had a slight rain and no skipping. 2 days later we had another slight rain and the wipers worked perfectly. Cost me about $18 apiece with the tax from Walmart. If you can buy a cheap wiper from Walmart that works perfectly why can't the dealer wipers work as well. I just wonder what kind of cheap garbage the oem wiper blades from dealer are made of. Still on vacation and looks like I will be using wipers again.

Out Of Control!!
I can appreciate the whining, however why not whine at the dealer----put the blades back on and visit the donut girl and get your money back!!

dealer I bought from is 1,100 miles from where I am. When I get back home in a few more weeks I will be bringing the wipers back. The post was more of information to fellow MB owners to not buy OEM and go buy the bosch that work the way wipers should work

I was actually somewhat impressed by the Valeo that Rockauto had on clearance at one point, they lasted longer than OEM Bosch ones. On the other hand, the Trico that they have now on clearance at $2.26 are ok, not as good as the Valeo, but they don't skip. I just got them when buying a few other items. Wiper blades always seem to be hit or miss.

id go for bosch when the need comes.
also, try to clean your windscreen like this...
might help with the skipping might not, but at least you have a very clean windscreen after.

I polish and wax my windshield whenever I change wiper blades so even the cheap MB refills work pretty well. One thing I've learned about windshields is that most German auto windshields are softer than US windshields so they respond well to a good polish. They show sand and dust damage more than domestic autos; however so it's a trade off.
I've had good luck with the Bosch blades as well.

bringing up an old thread because I don't want to start a new one.......
is there a way to simply replace the rubber part of the wiper? Anyone know where to purchase the wiper refills?

I haven't seen refill inserts for these cars but I gave up using refills because as of several years ago, they often won't stay on. When you need them the most, the rubber just starts sliding out on one end, and the last time I tried some I ended up with a severe scratch on my windshield. IMHO, not worth the cost savings.
