W212 facelift headlights upgrade
Hi, i just purchased an e350 2014 (w212 facelift option). Unfortunately i have the standard lights (ie led foglights and low beam but halogen high beam) and like the nicer looking upgraded lights with the "brow looking" turn signals and "hockey sticks" DRLs.
I know there are lots of threads on lighting upgrade but I am not looking for a complete intelligent light system retrofit, just nicer looks. Found these on eBay at a reasonable price.

My question is are they truly plug and play as stated and how good are these lights, low beam and high beam, will they be better than the standard ones and last equally long?

I've considered these before but here's what kept me from moving forward:
1. Headlight is HD (Xenon) and not LED.
2. Not gaining additional functions like curve headlight and auto highbeam like in OEM.
3. LED directional lights are a nice touch but not a vast improvement.
If you do move forwaed with these, I'd love to hear your experience from installation to functions.

You mean HID, high intensity discharge, not HD headlights. Adaptive headlight and auto high beam are over rated.

though you have to have your headlights switch turned to auto and your headlight stalk pushed forward, the auto high beam is actually a great function. my 212 sedan is set that way. high beam lights up when streets have low lights.
now for OPs concern. i reckon you have better luck getting answers for your queries from the seller. if looks is mainly what youre after, should be a quick and easy answer. goodluck mate!
PS: you mentioned something about the hockey stick DRLs on your original post...please DONT bother with that as fl are not designed to have it.

What's the price for this system? The only way I will consider this is, if my headlights are damaged in an accident and my insurance will pay for only a used OEM replacement product. In that situation this looks like a reasonable option as I assume the cost will be similar.

I figured for $40, I'll give them a shot.

I ended up ordering a set of these to replace my halogen high beams: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01FJ...ary?th=1&psc=1

Whats the final verdict? Worth the trouble or not? Thanks.

those newer style headlights have quite a lot of car electronics behind them, and presumably need the lighting or body control modules to be properly programmed to run them. I have no idea what the specifics are, I just know those systems are *complicated* and involve CANbus digital communications etc. my 2016 came with those lights, when I start the car at night, they do this whole sweep and together thing. on my car, the high beams are entirely automatic, the headlights come on when its dark enough, and if its really dark and there's nothing in front of me, the high beams are automatic too. this requires synchronization with the stereo cameras at the top of the windshield in front of the rear view mirror that watch the road ahead.

I tried those ebay plug and play headlights - I purchased the Depo brand, which are among the most reliable, quality aftermarket you can find. The lighting was crappy and within a couple of days they failed. YMMV but don't expect OEM quality.
I ended up doing a complete OEM retrofit and believe me, it's not worth the time and expense. If you are dead-set on having the intelligent lighting, you are better off selling your car and getting another with the factory option included
