Anything I should be aware of?
Thinking about getting a 2014 E350. I know this was the first year of the redesign and I know its not a good idea to buy a car the first year anything major is done to it. I know it was just mostly a "refresh", but still, should I avoid a 2014 with a certain build date? Any known issues with 2014's that were worked out by the 2015 MY?

The only major upgrade on the 2014 E class after it was introduced was a upgrade in the floor pan that improved the NHTSA crash ratings on build dates after Jan. 1 2014 IIRC. I owned an July 2013 built E350, and had no problems with it other than I wanted a V8! Good Luck, and happy hunting.

2012 E350 - P2, 08 E350 AMG Sport, . 96 E300D 230+k. 03 Limited 4xSequoia & 2011 Volvo C30 R design
You are good. Our 2012 e350 has been awesome. No issues other than wood replaced (early 212 issue). I bought new and have 87k. Its subjective, by do you like the facelift or not. You would be fine with a 2012/2013 too. Think you get an HP bump somewhere in there. 2014 I think. If amg pkg plan on budgeting for lots of tires. Note - bought a 2008 with amg pkg for my daughter. I actually enjoy the feel/drive/greenhouse of the 211 better. Shhhhh. Nothing beats my 96 e300 diesel though.
Dude you will love the 2014.

Thanks everyone. I'm going to get the car either Monday or Tuesday of this coming week. It just came out of CPO service and it's in detail right now. It's the Steel Gray with the light gray interior. Fairly well loaded. Blind spot and lane tracking, lighting package, 18k miles, 18" AMG wheels, rear spoiler, wood/leather steering wheel. I'm pretty excited.

Yes I am. I've only has my 2016 C300 for 3 months and decided I just don't like it. I got it brand new. A leftover 2016. I've only put 3700 miles on it. Don't get me wrong it's a nice little car, but that's the problem. It's a little too little. I want something bigger. I'm very excited about my E350. Supposed to pick it up Tuesday which happens to be the last day of the CPO 1.99 financing and 2 prepaid service visit special.

I recently had a 2016 C300 for a week while some work was done on my car and I agree. The first day or so, I though "I can see myself in one of these in the future" but by day 5 I really disliked it for many reasons. I hated the peaky nature of the I4, I hated the way the eco start/stop was programmed (it would shut off as the car rolled to a stop and sometimes restart and lurch forward due to light brake pressure), I hated the way the pano roof rattled like crazy (my car's pano roof is silent), I thought the Burmester audio system sucked.. I just disliked most things about it.

I love the W212 and probably would have bought the same as you, but I was offered a deal too good to pass up on my W204 C350 with basically the same options as the E.. albeit, the interior on the E is definitely a cut above.

Yeah. I'm the same as you. Well I really liked it the first month, but it wore off pretty fast. The Eco start/stop is rough and abrupt in the C300. I've heard that it's much smoother in the E350. I hope that's true. And the doors seem so thin on the C. The doors on the E seem much heavier and more solid. I can't wait till Tuesday. I've dreamt about the E for the last 2 nights. Lol.

In the US those models came later and still had problems. For W211, first year was called 2003 although they were probably made in 2002, first year for W212 was 2010 and 2009 was the last year for W211. W213 was 2017 though. Some manufacturers delay models for certain countries so they can work some of the first year bugs out, but it can still take a while.
most of the upgrades on a facelift is aesthetics. there will be bugs and lil problems but not as much compared to a new model car. that being said, which car doesnt have any problems?
OPs query is about the "facelift reliability". I reckon its safe to say that the first year of a new model car is far more "unreliable" than a first year facelifted model.

I used to have my car serviced at Atlanta Classic Cars regularly. Switched to RBM because that's closer, but never had a bad experience with them. Great car!

Its still covered under CPO warranty. Its only got 19,000 miles on it. But when that runs out, I probably will add some sort of extention becasue I plan on keeping this one for a while.

Check the extended warranty subforum, there's several dealers that will sell you an extra 2 years at a lower price than the dealer. But I think if you wait more than 30 days to buy it, the price goes up a little bit.

Report back and let us know what the cost is. They never seem to post the current price, you always have to dig for it. Just good to know for someone else who might stumble upon the thread. There are 3 or 4 dealers that get mentioned all the time.
