2010 E350 airmatic problem

Hi

So I was going to replace the links to lower my car.

Replaced the links in the front - went without a problem.

Then for the links in the back i noticed it was a little tight against the controlarm(?), but I thought since the "head" of the link was rounded it wouldnt be a problem...

I started the car, it went abit lower and I thought I would adjust it more later.

Started going home and noticed the car was bouncy as hell, like REALLY bouncy.

I got home and then saw that the rear of the car was slammed, and also the raise button inside the car doesnt work.

I have also replaced the original links today to try and fix it but it's still dead in the rear...

Any ideas??

EDIT: Forgot to mention it's a Wagon

there was a thread with a similar issue.
i dont remember if it was resolved.
but i am 99.9 percent sure that its due to wrong install.
its this peace that u need to adjust. take off the wheels and turn that thing around , when installing it u prolly didnt think it would play such a big role if it spins there.

So i spin the plastic thing attached to the link? If I remember correctly its pointing down right now, but then it should be pointing up?

Ok So i have been checking the car with Xentry, it doesn't show any voltage on any of the rear sensors? Could your suggestion still fix it or do I have to repair them? If so, where can i find the part number and is it an easy fix?

if it was working fine before your new link installation , im pretty sure it will fix the issue.
its either that
or
possibly you made the link too short.

im using the original links right now so...

Okey so then I try to spin the sensors 360 degrees in any direction and see if that fixes it...

I saw something else while I was in Xentry, it was some values on the sensors, the setpoint was between 500-4500, both the front ones were at 2490mV so thats good. But the back ones were at 471mV and 4549mV, so one was under the setpoint and the other one was over it?

yes do this first.

i guess this is exactly it , that part that spins is not in right direction/position. (some kind of switch if you want)
and check with the one that has the lowest setpoint (471mv)

Ok so I spinned both of them around and also changed their positions, and no luck.........

So i guess we can assume both sensors are broken? what could have caused this? if you mounted the links with the sensor arm in wrong positon could it have broken them? its so wierd when its at the both rear sides......

Ok so the problem is fixed.

It seems like the installation went wrong and that the links got installed with the sensor pointing in the wrong direction, and then the airmatic computer went crazy and said "malfunction" and nothing worked.

And even if i fixed the problem with the installation it still didnt work, you had to go in with Xentry and reset the airmatic...

Someone also told me that everytime you adjust your links, you have to go in with xentry and calibrate the airmatic? Is this true? I havent read that anywhere....

Well if you have access to Xentry why u need links?
Never heard of that step.

So you fixed your links and then reseted it in xentry?
