E550 5.5L Muffler Delete...Drone Help
Hey guys. Friend bought a 2010 E550 and I've been helping him mod it up a bit. He did a muffler delete, but has some low end drone (up to maybe like 2.5k rpm) that he does not like. He loves the sound otherwise.
We tried to do some research beforehand and read that people did the muffler delete without touching the resonators and there was no drone...but that clearly wasn't the case. I guess it's subjective to each person though, but is there any clear cut method we can do to get rid of the drone?
Would a secondary cat or resonator delete work to get rid of the drone? I'm assuming that it would be a little louder which is fine...as long as the drone is gone.
Thanks!

1.U would have to put in aftermarket mufflers
or
2.also try sound proofing (dynamat and such) trunk area (made a tiny bit better , had it like this for atleast a year and a half)

Have you considered installing an X-pipe? And also not a lot of people knows about this that you have to position the X-pipe as close as possible to the bank (right under and behind your transmission pan)
