Hows this price on a 2010 E550?

Old Slam here is thinking about getting back in the Merc game! Been a few years since I roasted tires with a 5.5, its been calling me ever since I handed the CLK55 keys to a doctor in Iowa. Gave this E550 a drive and could not find anything wrong with it, great condition in and out. I was a die hard w208/w210 AMG fan, but the E550 sounds like in might be a winner as well, even if it is a bit heavier than I like. 2010 E550 sport, silver with pano and P2, 51k miles, dealer asking $17500. Seems it at that place where you can still get a good car and it wont depreciate like crazy.

2014 E550-sold 😩
That is a very good price. Buy it. I sold my 2010 E550 about 18 months with 65,000 miles for 23K. It was loaded Pano P2 lighting, etc

The first question is the car still there? It's been on there for a while so sometimes I think dealers like to keep them on for marketing purposes and say the car just sold when you call about it. Anyway, that car has the faded wood problem which is only covered under the original factory warranty. The pano roof can also making popping noises which require the bolts to be tightened up, but you only notice that when going over a ramp at an angle and the body flexes.

Thanks for the insight on the trim problem, should not be a deal breaker for me though. Kinda wish it did not have pano roof. I'm going to do a 2nd longer, test drive tomorrow, will likely take it to my own garage or an independent place I use for further inspection and a code scan. I am liking the price for product ratio so far. My original goal was to find a low mileage w210 E55, but they are super rare and always require a trip out of state to look at.

BlackBookPortal goes above the listed price, so, it looks like a nice find.
Usually MB charges around 165$ for a 169pt inspection. I feel manufacturer's thorough inspection is a best way to go, but your is not bad, if he is your trusted mechanic.
good luck with the purchase.

Seems good, especially for that amount of mileage.

That's a great price imo. Did you end up buying it? I recently bought my 2010 E550 with 75k with 6 months CPO warranty left. It has p1/p2 package minus the pano. I bought mine for $19k.

Yes, I did buy it for $17 even plus 160 in fees and tax. The car seems rock solid, everything works. But I am a bit concerned about the ride, it seems like something in the suspension is a little loose, every bump or crack I can feel a "thunk", my older GTI does not even do that. Also noticed the it has a slight 'memory steer', so it will slowly turn left if you pull the wheel left, or slowly pull right if you pull the wheel right.Tires are non-runflat, Pirelli Pzero Nero. Is the ride of other W212's like this? or should it be a really solid, German like feel I was expecting over bumps and cracks?

I took it to a guy that just does alignments, and he spent an hour trying to diagnose it, thinks it might be strut/air shock upper bearings. Could not find anything loose. Alignment was fine but said the caster was 6 degrees on one tire and 8 degrees on the other. Strange because I have the VMI report, and its been on dealer schedule all the time, even had a rear shock replaced 2.5 years ago with a full front and rear alignment at the time.

My 175K mile '11 E350 4matic feels rock solid and stable. This is even considering that It's wearing the inner edge of one of the front tires.

As I read more about others with the same issues, it sounds like it might be the airmatic suspension found in the sport editions during the first few years.

2014 E550-sold 😩
Yeah, you will need to pay attention to your Airmatic. Look for drooping after sitting overnight or for a few days with no activity. I have had 2 Airmatic cars, including my 2010 E550. I had no issues and actually enjoyed the feel of the Airmatic ride. Repairs can be expensive, however. My 2014 is all springs and actually pretty stiff.
