E550 M278 Biturbo 4matic Dyno results
Put my E550 on the 4wd dyno Saturday. It's currently 100% factory stock, other than K&N drop-in air filters. I haven't seen a good baseline on a Biturbo 4matic yet. Still waiting to receive the printout via email. I will post when I have it.
HP: 396
Torque:478
They had some trouble keeping the car into 4th gear, which is where they typically do the pulls. It wanted to kick down to 3rd every time he stomped on the gas. The result was a good pull with 3rd selected on the paddles. Dyno mode was set, and S mode, A/C and radio turned off. Temp about 80-85. 81K miles on the clock.

Those are some of the highest numbers I have seen reported/claimed. Especially, your torque number which is considerably higher.

Found this on the web. Red highlighted line is E550 coupe, 2wd stock. Top is Stage 2 Renntech with downpipe and exhaust. The 2 in the middle are tune and exhaust.

Still can't understand why MB has this engine rated at 402HP(crank), when all of the Dyno information put the HP at considerably higher.

Shhhhh....
It would take away sales from AMG. That's why they stopped offering 550 in the E class.
Most of the cars there were C63 and E55, so I think they were a little upset by my stock numbers against their C class AMG cars with more $ on top. Owner swore it's already tuned. I bought it used, but I don't think the numbers warrant any tuning.

The shop I used dyno'd it in eco mode (do'h) and it did 363awhp in my 2013. Torque was all over the place. They didn't really know how to do these cars but in talking with speedriven they indicated that had they done it right it would have been 20-25awhp higher. They said this is about the difference in doing it right and doing it in eco.
Why sandbag the numbers? Why did GM sandbag the LT1 and LS1 motors in the fbody? To not **** off vette owners paying 2x or more for their cars. I'd say that they may have done the same to make it look way weaker than an AMG given teh performance for price these TT E550's provide.

It makes the mpg numbers even more remarkable on a car with probably closer to 440-450HP stock.

I have the same 4.7 biturbo engine, the car is fast straight line, but cannot really "power slide" unless steering wheel is turned left/hard all the way. Perhaps I just need to learn how. I put it in the second gear on highway ramps and floor it, and it accelerates and turns as a train on railroads. I want the backend to come out like in an AMG car. Can someone teach me how
